TF2 has a nice blend of old and new gen players. Recently played on a server with someone top scoring who played since 2009. I thought I was old because I started playing TF2 on January of 2014.

Sorry to disappoint, but not very many at all

Though in my defense, it’s kind of a childhood game for me (I played it the most between 12-16) so I didn’t have infinity hours to play games, and after like 2012 I’ve put in maybe 10% of those 400 hours. This past week I’ve played like 13 hours already.

It’s still the highest playtime for any game that tracks playtime for me.

Really now? I'm rather shocked. The other games with the highest playtime I have was probably Dark Souls II Scholar of the First Sin and Street Fighter V on PS4. The yearly recap said I had above 500 hours in SFV in 1 year and DS II SOTFS at above 800

Yeah I'm kind of surprised myself honestly. I play games I like super intensively for periods of time, but I've always been a pretty casual gamer, so I don't think I've ever locked in super hard and just lost a billion hours, so I assume I've just never really managed to clock a giant amount of time in any given game. But I dunno, I don't ususally keep track of time unless the game does it for me easily, like Steam does.

Though as I said it's the only game that tracks time like that, so it's not included like me playing Dark Souls on every single system from its launch and stuff like that, or me having thousands of hours in WoW accumulated over an army of characters throughout the years.

Even with all my hours in TF2 I still suck at rocket jumping aside from the basic jumps. Learning to pogo, surf, and market garden is really hard.

Same, I tried today and yesterday to get better at it but I always choke whenever I have to do anything other than basic jumps lol

That's sick!

The one I've dolled up the most currently is my Heavy. I really like those biker-esque duds that are available nowadays. They make them look unique while not overly wacky.

In total across probably my dad's steam account, my old steam account that got hacked, and my current account... I probably have maybe 11,500~ hours. I've been playing since around June 2011 though.

I played it a good chunk when I finally got a PC capable of playing it after it went F2P. That was the spark that got me back into PC gaming after quitting WoW for the first time actually, because before that I was interested enough in TF2 to be playing the PS3 Orange Box version.

Absolutely loved it. I played a ton of it as my go to game until I got wrapped back up in WoW, but it was still my big non-WoW game alongside Terraria. I didn't have much cash at the time so I settled with trifecta at that point. I think that Christmas I got the discounted Valve complete package in a sale and played L4D, L4D2, all of the mutiplayer stuff at least a bit.

Then I just stopped playing TF2. No idea why but probably because I got more involved in WoW. Came back when they started doing the campaign/battle pass stuff (I think they removed quick play or something?) and never really got that intense spark again. I played it with a friend for a few weeks here and there on and off, but that was about it for a final clock in time total of around 700 hours when the bot plague really started to ramp up.

i've played it A LOT 15 years ago and on and off for the last 10. i am getting a little more disinterested as time goes on. there's not much for content updates aside from maps and hats. the kind of servers i enjoyed playing on with my favorite custom maps is just not around or alive anymore. im kinda waiting on team fortress 2 classic to get it's steam release, but i am thinking i about just done with tf2. my competitive edge is kinda just not there for even a game like tf2.
anyways this was my favorite map.

if there was a well active server in either live or classic running this map 24/7 good chance i might become a regular. i love this map.

Mario Kart? Which one btw? I mostly remember two of them.

Also that map is nostalgic mostly thanks to Team Fabulous 2 as well as the 2000's memes on it.

Yeah that one. It was fun teleporting into the skybox to become gigantic.

Some servers modified the map to add a skybox tp.

And this is thanks to this (and using noclip in HL²) that I've understood how those worked in the Source engine.

It's interesting how in Doom it was a 2D one moving as you rotated to Quake having a 3D wrap (hemisphere I think) then Source games having a properly 3D one so you felt like you were in an actual world (and for objects too big for the map to handle they "cheated" by making some stuff part of the skybox like the Citadel).

I got into TF2 a couple years ago with my new computer, now I play it with friends and we have fun. Honestly it’s the only game I’ve never heard one of my buds complain about, and he complains about just about every game we play.
