I am a TCG fiend I play: mtg(mostly commander), yugioh (speed duel too), one piece tcg, dragon ball super masters (fusion world also), digimon (new one), pokemon, union arena, weiss schwarz, and metazoo(rip in peace). I have mostly more recent cards and heavily regret ever giving away my old yugioh cards. I wish I had played more tcg when I was exclusivsly into yugioh I regret missing out on kingdom hearts, and naruto tcgs.

I have two Yu-Gi-Oh decks and one swamp/island MtG deck built over a span of years. I don't play sadly anymore, it was only ever a spur of the moment thing among my friends. And I'm absolutely certain we did not follow the game rules to a tee. But the collecting factor is my favorite part, just to build a deck and see my favorite cards is reward alone.

I still have my old YGO decks and sometimes I play Master Duel but overall the game lost its charm. The modern game is essentially a parody of itself.

On one hand the average deck can easily cycle on a single turn 10-20 cards of the players choice but on the other the exact same guy cycling those cards will larp that Pot of Greed(draw 2 cards) or graceful charity(draw 3, discard 2) would somehow snap the game in half.

For real its been so long chaos emperor dragon is now under powered with its original effect just unban it.

A few years ago, I tried to get interested in 'Yu-Gi-Oh!' again, but the prices are really too high and the variations of the same card are excessive. I don’t care if a card has a shiny or checkerboard pattern, I just want the artwork to be nice and for some of them to be useful in battle, nothing more, but now the whole market is fucked.

I got into yugioh like almost a year ago. People say modern yugioh is a mess, and it is, but i think you can find enjoyment amidst all the chaos. Yes, games tend to be 2-3 turns long but for me, those turns are very intense because you have to use your cards and effects very carefully (in some cases. Playing dimension shifter is as braindead as it gets). I'd say that anyone trying to get into yugioh should first play the psp games to see if they even like yugioh and when they get more experiencied with the game, move to master duel or even cardboard (although expensive). I have made friends thanks to ygo and i have fun playing so i would recommend it to anyone looking to make friends or pass time.

Sadly, i have 0 experiencie with other tcgs, here en my city they only play ygo but i would like to try pokemon sometime.

Same here, Patches. Although I don't play as much now haha I used to play MtG Modern in 2016 and have also played Yu-Gi-Oh, weiss, Force Of Will, tip-toed close to Wixoss, Dice Masters back when that was a thing, Final Fantasy TCG (the only one I play semi-regularly now) and I tried to get into Digimon when it released but there was no stock anywhere around that time.

Nowadays it's mostly FF TCG and the other ones either through online videogames, friends lending me their good decks or tabletop simulator which I love, one of the best ways to play with friends online imo

I agree about FF and online TCGs I wish there were more online tcg resources, but its possible to make due. I love how the FF TCG kind of has like an old school yugioh feel to it with a few differences.

Wow, lots of YGO players. Only played mtg myself. Was only "active" during 9th edition era playing terrible B/R control decks. Favorite card will always be arena <3

Pokemon TCG for mobile I guess? I also play actual Yugioh cards, OCG though. Played multiple other card games as well including those from Bushiroad.

yeah, it's easy but can be complex. For vanguard, I'm dissappointed with the major changes made by Bushiroad.
Yeah true. I have only played the OG game on 3DS before and then recently played the Dear Dreams and the difference in mechanics is astonishing. They feel like completely different games. That hyper trigger (or whatever its called) is complete bullshit.
