Every single one seemed broken and had massive issues. It's what I always thought my whole life
Then as I grew up I found out most of my favourite youtubers were saying the same thing, most notably "think before you sleep" (the other ones are not in English)
Ah. Is that causation or correlation though? The tattoos may not have caused their woes, they could just be a symptom of whatever the root cause of their struggles is. Are tattoos less normalized in your country? In America, it's common for popular Youtubers or influencers to have tattoos.
Maybe? Your body is all you truly have... but just like all that is conditioned it will one day become something else, so I guess it doesn't matter from that angle
I suppose so, I think it's definitely worth it to treat your body well and take care of it. Even with a tattoo or piercing, they can look good if cared for properly, but can also look bad if not maintained, especially in the beginning. There's always the possibility of infection, though that would come from negligence, which could also happen if a person gets a cut or wound and doesn't care for it properly.
that they're probably (95% chance) getting it to try and fill a hole somewhwre.
but then again. maybe i'm wrong. maybe that proportion is inverted. i don't really care. i'm just trying to do my part in making people happy, healthy and safe
I think the concept of your message is good. Think before you act, have a reason to make a big decision, etc. I agree with all that. It's just the presumption that someone is getting a tattoo for a negative reason that would probably dilute your message or turn people off from it. There are definitely people who get tattoos recklessly or frivolously. I don't know any personally, but I can think of celebrity examples for sure. In my opinion, someone who would get a tattoo without thought or concern is likely to engage in other, more reckless actions than getting some ink.
what's more likely, that you'll regret getting a tattoo or regret no getting one?
You've got me there. I think it would be hard to regret not getting a tattoo, since it's not a moment that can be missed per say. Someone might not be able to afford one, or feel like they are unable to get one because for employment reasons. I guess maybe a person could miss out on the moment of getting a matching tattoo with someone important to them.
The latter is definitely more likely. In this hypothetical scenario though, what would make them regret the tattoo? It could be a few different reasons. Maybe they get a logo of a band and then they stop liking their music. Perhaps they get the name of the person they are dating tattooed on them and then they break up. One of my friends got a tattoo of the Smosh logo and later regretted it once he stopped watching their content. Regrettable, but that's also life. A tattoo is maybe just a very visible example of things not working out or tastes changing. It leaves behind evidence. It's up to each person how much something like that bothers them. I think I could deal with it, but I also wouldn't get a tattoo of someone's name in the first place. My tattoos aren't the highest quality, since they were done by a tattoo student and aren't overly complex, so it's possible I will regret them some day. I don't think I will, though. It was exactly what I asked for at the time, and if nothing else it's a reminder that change is possible, even if it's a small change.
