I hate unnecessary remakes. I don't care how cool P3 Reloaded is. Persona 1 deserved the remake. Plus P3 FES(tival) is still good to play.

I like the remake, but I strongly share your opinion. What's the joke of remaking a game that still works as the same in today's standards? I would be more curious about how a modern SMT IF or a Persona 1/2, dang even a Majin Tensei, that shit was sick.

Rereleases losing licenced music. I saw in another thread someone complained about Tony Hawk games being remastered but changing the music. Is that why Burnout 3 hasn't been rereleased? It has this one song by My Chemical Romance and it is perfect for the game. I'd hate for the game to lose that song

Unnecessary, we could really drive the nihilistic take to the ground and say this entire hobby is unnecessary.

They're remaking persona games to train new staff and use unreal engine going forward; Studio Zero is sunsetting, more likely to retire in the coming years.

Now that's a fair point. Let me better explain it. An unnecessary remakes is taking a game that has still aged well and can still be enjoyed today with little issue but remaking it for modern audiences. However, what makes it unnecessary is how there are little changes that improve the original game. Not enough to justify remaking the whole thing. Especially if fans can easily creative a simple patch. I've used Persona 3 FES(tival) as an example because for all the people that hate the AI controlled party members there exists a patch on this site to change that and control them. I personally love the AI party members because of the immersion and only like 2 of my deaths were completely the AI's fault. There also exist wide screen patches for P3 FES(tival) and even a patch to replace all the animated cutscenes with the ones from the movie. I really don't believe Reloaded ever needed to be made. There even exist patches for the Answer to make it less difficult and/or a drag to playthrough.

The same goes for Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, all for money literally, but game was too easy.
