Talking About Intimacy In Marriage

Well for starter i should tell you guys that i haven't married yet nor in relationship with anyone like ever.

But i just stumble upon this video

Which makes me wonder that well that's basically what my parents usually does. I mean my dad was a huge nerd he sometimes talk about marvel or some random shit to my mom, and sometimes my mom just talks about some food etc.

Even tho growing up i know my dad wasn't that talkative i just love to see when they just banter on some weird nonesense. Then i wonder does marriage actually very similiar to just living together with somone you really close to?

I rarely seen my parents being lovey dovey, but somehow i feels like was this actually a ship goals?.

But tbh i don't know i'm just some loner wandering in some internet forums.

Pretty much. Its just someone really close you can laugh, cry and share experiences with. Like having a best friend.

but usually it goes that way when people are in love that they usually try to engage with the hobby of the other to get even closer with each other.

I'm not dating anyone right now, but I want to. For me, the intimacy of marriage is about respect, and respecting others is about planning, like if we're going to buy a refrigerator, we put all the money we have into it and save up our income.

One relationship that I always admired (and wanted for myself) from a super young age was Pongo and Perdita from 101 Dalmatians

Mostly because it felt like one based on genuine love and respect for one another that also echoed their masters

I’m kind of like this with one of my closer friends. He talks on and on at me (for actual real life hours) about horse racing and guns, then I take my turn yapping at him (for an indeterminate amount of time) about my interest of the year. I don’t think either of us remember all of what the other had said but at least for me I’m happy to hear him sharing his interests, and now I’m ever so slightly into horse racing.

Maybe so? I never saw my parents being lovey-dovey too, they are nothing alike and they share zero common interest, I wonder how they ended up together too considering my dad is slightly unhinged, although he did gave some good advice sometimes, to him, marriage is willingness to live with the WORST aspects of your partner's life, seeing the good in people is a strange concept to him since, well, you obviously can deal with it, but not everyone is gonna be able to accept the bad part.
I kinda see his point, before my mum passed away, I never see them fight or anything, there were some small arguments here and there but that's it, I asked them one time what do they see in each other and they both pointed out each other's bad habit, then my mum said "that's why I married him".

Depends on the people, I think. My parents always got along fine, but there were many arguments that were really annoying to listen to. They never did get a divorce. I honestly don't think they were right for each other, but what do I know? My goal if I was to ever get married was to find someone that I could really get along with, and I seem to have achieved that goal. So I'd say that if you find the right person then yes, it's definitely just like living with someone you really like.
