Talk about any Game Boy Advance game that isn't one of these 25

One of my favorite games on the GBA it also has some really good music that I still remember to this day and at one point I got really good at always landing critcial hits by hitting the dot weakness points (some of them get pretty small).

I had no idea there was a portable Zone of the Enders! That’s so sick! Is it a horizontal shmup or is it an attempt at something more?

It was actually a pretty hard game to finish but I love some handheld robotech. There needed to be more games in this series that gave an arcade feel like this one.

That's a huge restriction ngl ahah, those are definitely the biggest highlights of the GBA. I can think of few others:
  • The GBA Klonoa games: I beat Empire of Dreams (a solid 7.5/10), tried quickly its sequel and the action RPG (the one on the right) that feels surprisingly kinda fun to play. Klonoa as a franchise is fine, but I never perceived any of his games as 9 or 10/10.

  • Mr. Driller 2: this definitely felt an awesome entry ticket for this semi-unfortunate puzzle series that I wish Bandai Namco could have managed better.

  • Grand Theft Auto Advance: this existed and shocked me to know at first, even worse when I knew about Chinatown Wars on DS. It reminds me of the PS1 original, but I presume it's not the same game. The worst thing? I don't care for GTA (except Vice City and V for the gameplay) at all. It just shocks me the history of this franchise on Nintendo consoles, happening randomly and just like that with these mentioned games. Sorry people. ::warcraft-skeleton

  • The two Banjo Kazooie games: Grunty's Revenge is an isometric game similar to the Spyro one. And for GBA it was a very good choice. It's really nothing special, but since we never got a proper Banjo Threeie with the gameplay we expected (just so you can't counter argument about Nuts N Bolts...) this is the only alternative after the N64 duology. If you don't wanna count the Yooka-Laylee franchise.

Then there is Pilot...that one game originally supposed to be a Diddy Kong Racing and where flying through grass slows you down. If only Super Circuit didn't have atrocious controls I would probably feel it's worse.

  • .........hey, speaking of which, since it's not the list:
this is definitely the least enjoyable Mario Kart games of all times, right after Wii IMO.
If you want a chance to get 3 stars rank on every cup not only you gotta play almost perfectly (get hit less times as possible, collect shit-ton of coins etc.) you gotta do the cups as Mario or Luigi. The game just award you better if you use any of them. I do like the graphics and how much it tries to emulate Mario Kart 64...while also being closer to Super Mario Kart. Yeah, this game just has a real identity crisis.

  • And, finally, to conclude on a very positive note: the Breath of Fire SNES duology. Versions that definitely are adapted for the GBA, but I'm pretty positive that the translation is much better...and that the BOF1 GBA fixed lots of stuff that made the original game a little (especially for the pacing). Sadly graphics (resolution obviously, and forced brightness since it's on GBA, console without light on its own except from SP onwards) and soundfont are anything and nearly as good as the original counterparts. But these versions have definitely a much better UI, therefore presentation in that sense.

Soundvoyager is part of the bit Generations series of abstract, experimental games. This one in particular is all about sound, and it's one of the few games I know of that you can play blindfolded (with earphones).

GradiusGalaxies.jpg

Gradius Galaxies is a solid entry in the series. Similar to Gradius Gaiden, you can choose between four ships with different powerups, so it has good replayability. Shoot stuff, power up, and destroy the core.

RhythmTengoku.jpg

Rhythm Tengoku/Rhythm Heaven Silver is basically Wario Ware with rhythm. It has a similar brand of whimsy and wackiness, with games like plucking chin hairs from onion heads, baseball in space, and marching in bunny costumes. Besides being an enjoyable, replayable game, this is also my go-to game for testing input lag/latency on emulation devices.

GTAdv3.jpg

GT Advance 3 is the latest and perhaps most polished game in the series. It's Game Boy's "we have Gran Turismo at home," but in a good way. You race to win championships, unlock cars, mod them with parts, etc.

konami-krazy-racers.jpg

Konami Krazy Racers is a competent Mario Kart clone. The game's original Japanese title is Konami Wai Wai Racing, so like the Wai Wai World games on Famicom, it once again features characters and locations from various Konami franchises: Metal Gear, Castlevania, Twinbee, Pop'n Music, Goemon, etc.

NB-Xmas.jpg

The Nightmare before Christmas: The Pumpkin King is a surprisingly decent metroidvania for a licensed game.

Apotris-title.gif

For homebrew, Apotris deserves a mention. It's a polished game of Tetris with various modes.

A totally valid GBA existence! It’s awesome how long we’ve had accurate GBA emulation.
I think this is not talked about enough. Not only is the GBA capable of amazing graphics for its time, but it is bloody easy to emulate. A smart toaster could emulate it at this point.

And that is its strenght, since many games have not been legally re-released, it is the only way to experience certain titles (including the iconic 25 mentioned in the OP)

TMNT for the GBA is a great example. A fantastic homage to the 90s beat-em-ups that the Turtles starred in, using the underrated 2007 movie as a basis makes it stand out, and is probably the best game of the TMNT in the 2000s (even if the 4Kids cartoon ones were also good on their own merits)

Here here! Long live GBA emulation!
