does what it says and i thought my fellow Tales Of fans would enjoy this !!

Very nice. It always bothered me that they billed this as a sequel in the west original when absolutely nothing is the same.

They were worried that gamers would be too stupid to realize that it was a game in the same franchise as Tales of Destiny and instead mistake it as part of the "Twisted Tales of Spike McFang" pantheon.

You're right, of course, it's the kind of localization decision that doesn't age well, even if it made sense in that given time slice.

Thanks a lot for this!

I have tried to combine bin tracks, both disc 1 and 2 are good, but disc 3 has different checksum than in ‘readme’ file in the archive.
I checked images from few sources (including RGT repo) and it’s always the same. Although the patching has been successful.

Could you double check the sums of merged disc 3 bin track please?

when i merged the disc 3 bins, these are the hashes i got

File SHA1 72AFBD329724F8ADCBA7CBDDFE260FC6C4D91EEF
ROM SHA1 72AFBD329724F8ADCBA7CBDDFE260FC6C4D91EEF
File MD5 9F0CF35B6C29A0D061CA5BA79CB3ED47
ROM MD5 9F0CF35B6C29A0D061CA5BA79CB3ED47
File CRC32 1078396E
ROM CRC32 1078396E

patching worked flawlessly.

it looks different from what flamepurge has listed. i'll email them

actually it was b/c the 2000's He-Man reboot was happening at that time, and Mattel had trademarked "Eternia" in "Masters of Eternia." namco felt like they had to change the name of ToE as a result, or so the story goes

Yes! I've got exactly the same. Just wanted to mention that the text file from the patch archive has it different.

They could have named it tales of Eternity, or tales of Celestia (the localized English name of the 2nd planet)
