settles into a simplistic SRPG experience, […] struggling to show or do anything even the most casual player of the genre hasn’t seen or done before. […] odd insistence on bare-minimum storytelling make it all feel very inconsequential.

[…] wants to lure in people who like TTRPGs, and wishes to be compared with its pen and paper original. It’s just so […] bad at it. It doesn’t embrace open-ended storytelling possibilities the way Romancing SaGa (released the year before) does on the same format, and there are no plot-embellishing notes to discover, secret shortcuts to find (unless part of the story is “find the secret shortcut”), or trapped rooms to disarm (or sneakily lure my enemies towards).

But this is a Sword World RPG. It’s like naming a game Dungeons & Dragons or Shadowrun or Pathfinder or Call of Cthulhu—there are certain tonal and mechanical expectations attached to these names, and those are not going to be fulfilled by another hour of Generic Fantasy RPG #3409.

This patch version is from two days ago, so probably more things were translated since the video you've watched? The description I added says dialogues are fully translated, with just the character creating needing to be finalized.
fRikimaru was talking about madara2 not this game.

I hope one day someone translates Madara 2... For some reason there are lots of translations for lots of games, some of them even have several translations, but never Madara 2 😥
I remember watching a gameplay and it had an absurd amount of kanji that are used for compound words in Japanese, and there is so much to translate. I don't think fans will be happy with just a partial translation or just the menu text.
