Okay, so, we all know about the phenomenal blunder that was the MK1 Swtich port, so much so that if I were to post all the damning comparison images on just the first page of google image search I would get banned for spam (I also couldn't decide on the funniest one to use, so I picked Johnny Cage being disgusted with himself).

But I keep seeing a lot of tantalizing deals on the Switch Storefront, and my older brother always nabs me a 30$ gift card for Christmas, so I was wondering if anyone out there had anyone had any advice on what to avoid for multi-platform games on the system that aren't so great.

For instance, JOJO: ASBR, MK11:U, Hogwarts Legacy, and a few others have some killer deals, but I'd rather not play ASBR at a frame rate lower than it already has. And don't even worry about telling me off from any of those "Cloud" game versions (like RE2R and KH3) since that's just a death sentence in and of itself.

Also, feel free to talk about any versions of games that are actually better on the Switch as well, since that'd also be a big help.

..........

Oh, alright, one more just for you, since I like you a lot...

Well, I mean, MK1 was a phenomenal blunder WITHOUT the shitty down-graded graphics- AMRITE?!
..

Yeah, I seriously cannot believe Nintendo can get away with selling a product in that state. I get that their hardware isn't the greatest, but if it don't work, don't release it. Reminds me of COD:BO3 for the 360. Just a complete waste of time and money, that they gave up just ONE DLC in.
I get that companies want money, and a kid will beg mommy and daddy for the game they want regardless of quality if they think the YT videos were cool enough. I just- feel bad. Surely those extra 60 bucks weren't worth making a child cry on Christmas.

I put around 200 hours into MK11 on Switch, and can attest that its port is pretty well-done! From a gameplay standpoint, at least. It's still a game with microtransactions and a multitude of meaningless unlocks, and also requires an online connection in order to save any rewards you've earned. Bleh...

If you have the means to play it somewhere else, you probably should. As the Switch is my only "current" console, I didn't have much choice. But I don't regret picking that one up. The only really iffy part of the port was The Krypt, which, despite getting updates, still looks like a N64 game to my eyes >_<

Alien: Isolation is generally regarded to be one of the best ports on Switch. I believe Digital Foundry even considered it to be the best of all console versions (???) because of the way it handles anti-aliasing. I'd still wait for a sale, but if you can snag it for $10 or so - and don't already have it on another console or PC - I'd say it's well worth taking the dive 😎

Dammit, I hate that you're right about the YT thing, since it's the entire reason Among Us got popular (it was on the App Store for, like, 2-3 years before anybody cared).

I've heard so many mixed things on MK1 as a whole, I really should've given up one it when it was being announced as the 3rd reboot the series had gotten, so far.

Alright, MK11's off the list, thanks for the earnest review my guy. And, wow, hard to see a more sterling recommend for Alien: Isolation than that. Thanks.
I really like the second image, it foony.

As a general rule, any multiplatform game on Switch is bound to be the worst version. You are better off staying with exclusives or indie games, like Hades. (And even those can be the worst version).

The only multiplatform game I have on mine is Skyrim, that runs really well for what it's worth.

Sorry I keep coming back to the Mileena image, hahaha. Switch be cool like that.

All Star Battle in PS3 already runs at 30FPS and at least are 30FPS stable, still sucks that doesn't run 60FPS but well, what we can expect from CC2 that doesn't know a shit of optimization(only did optimization in Kakarot Switch version which was a impressive port) and doesn't help that ASBR lacks Rollback and the online is so dead in every platform

Oh my god, I forgot CC2 did Kakarot, that explains everything about how bad that game is. Online is not a deal breaker on fighters, the last bastions of couch multiplayer, but I thought the entire point of ASBR was to have a better frame rate and make it a proper fighting game? Did they seriously re-release a game with no changes, just to tack on some more DLC to it?

This is more like sixth gen where the PS2 version is the absolute worst version to play. Its not like seventh gen when the Wii version or PSP version is a completely different game and you got a cool odd game instead. Like Star Wars Force Unleashed on the Wii

The PSP version of Star Wars Unleashed is also the best version of the game ::flexing

or multiplatforms games that were designed for Switch in mind like Prince of Persia Lost Crown as well remasters of old games(well... with few exceptions like the shameless MGS Master Collection with MGS2 and MGS3 locked at 30FPS, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 well... Sigma 2 is already bad and Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge, BGE 20th Anniversary, Pac-Man World Re-Pac 2 or Alan Wake ''Remastered'')

*Phew* Thanks for the slew of bullets to dodge there, MGS collection and the Re-Pac games we're on my list of potentials as well.

Doom 2016 runs decently for what it is but yeah, first party and indies are the better choice.

MGS shouldn't have struggles to run on the Switch...
