SCD Surgical Strike (32X) (Brazil) Sega CD ISO

@Alarond That's awesome to hear it worked on Pico for you, sort of. My original files had like 5 or 6 files compared to this version I downloaded here which only has 4. It had more track files. I wonder if you got a hold of the other download like I had with the missing track files if I would fully work. I unfortunately deleted mine when I downloaded this one so I will have to search again. I don't even remember where I got it. I just remember thinking why this version here had less files.
No. I only played this version with 4 files (basically, I downloaded it after you said It did not work well, and I wanted to corroborate if the game uploaded in this website had issues with me. Has one, as I said, but it is playable in the Pico core of RetroArch. Although, NOT in Fusion, for whatever reason).

Game must have 4 files: The usual ".cue" and 3 ".bin" files. The huge .bin one (418MB) is in fact, the full game. The other 2 tracks are red book SOUND CD TRACKS.
One contains the musical tune of the game title: an interesting tecno tune of about 04:05 of duration (41.2MB, a normal size for a CD music track of 4 minuts). The other, a little jingle of 9 seconds about some "Chris Corbo" or a similar name (don't know who the F is. Maybe a worker in the developers of the game)

In fact, to be more sure about the integrity of the game, I downloaded a copy of this same game for the 32X CD, from an alternative source (having a slightly different file zip name), and I got EXACTLY the same 4 files, with the same sizes, inside. And playing it has the same problems I already told: from time to time, it needs to wait some seconds in black screen after shooting... and then continues the gameplay (something annoying, but not unplayable).
As I said, I strongly think the game could have some bug/s not properly debugged before the launch of this 32X CD version, and they affect the emulation (being a cancelled version everywhere... but in Brazil... don't know who and how many playable tests did. Probably, not many... or none).

To be even more sure, I even downloaded the "Sega CD" version of the game. It also have the 4 files: a .cue, and 3 .bins: Bins corresponding to the same: the proper game, and the same 2 "sound CD" tracks.

The tech info about this game in "Sega Retro" also coincides with what I'm saying:
1. Data track (42:20)
2. Track02 (04:05)
3. (SE) (00:09)

So, I don't know why your older version of the game had more .bins, but in any case, this is totally the valid version.

The game is pure 90s action stupidity at max, but.... I really find the game very fun to play. The explosions and people flying, being projected by those explosions... are pure laugh. Really.
Also predicted accurately, and 6 years before, the feeling of what the US would do during 20 full years in the Middle East: A clusterfuck of chaotic killings and massive destruction, searching for "cherorists" and "bringing democracy". And it only costed 30 Billions of PUBLIC money. "Surgical Strikes", dude. This game is a Nostradamus.

Is the fmv also in english?
Yes, they are.

Crazy this 32X CD version was only released in Brazil.
Kega Fusion is the only EMU I know other than Pico that runs 32X CD games. I just tried it on Kega Fusion with no luck like all the other ones I found, just hangs on black screen.
Does anyone one know of any other EMU or a secret to get it to run?
Yep.. I downloaded the game and tried to use Fusion with no results (having the Bios for Mega CD).
Then, I used Retroarch with the Pico core. it worked fine for almost all the time, but from time to time, and for no reason, after the gun shooting animation (or the "shooting video") just does like a black screen for some seconds (like 30 or 40 seconds?) and then... just continues the gameplay as normal. I was playing like 20 minuts and happened 2 times.

That probably is similar to what is happening to you. I have no idea how to solve this, but I detected (after exiting the Retroarch and entering again) that... the game will no reload again and it will just crash the Retroarch when you try to play it again. And it will do that, until you will load another game, using any core. Then, it will play again. Some fucked up shit occurs with this game.

My suspicion is... the problems came NOT from THIS image version here, but it is probably some issues with the game itself. It would be not that strange if TecToy (the brazilian publisher) released to the market some late testing version of the game, instead of a final tested one (seeing how this 32X CD version was cancelled around the world just before its release, maybe it was cancelled during the testing, before getting a real "bug-free" master). Being Brazil, in the 90s... that is totally possible. The Brazilian "original release with very few copies" (while in the rest of the world the game was just cancelled...) is a very strange and suspicious story.

So... maybe those problems are just an inside bug never solved, affecting the emulation. I do not know if that problem also affects the gameplay using real hardware.
If someone can tell us... it would be very appreciated.

Honestly this is the first time i'd ever saw boxart for a brazilian Sega 32X CD game
Tectoy only released 2 games for the 32X CD... at least, from what I was told. This (being supposedly an exclusive), and Farenheit (with the Mega CD version inside the same case, like Sega did in US). Europe never got the Farenheit 32X CD version for some reason.

Thanks for sharing this improved version of the game in terms of compatibility between the Sega Mega CD and 32X although the game itself is average and does not stand out much for an FMV type game like in several other FMV Mega CD games of that time.

Brief time in the 90’s when an entire videogame could be made with not a single staff person who knew anything about art. It’s a clear massive shift from the 2D console days. It seems related to the rise of easier desktop publishing and (amateur) graphic design on computers. Horrible ugly interfaces seemingly made with clip art, some horribly ugly games. Fortunately a few years later things went back to normal with actual professional artists involved in making a game as a rule.

The pattern I’m talking about is more with some western games at the time, similar to how some western game soundtracks are laughably amateurishly composed compared to Japanese games. I believe a big part of the reason is more serious funding and cultural respect for art and music education in public school in Japan.

The BR stands for BASED and RARE.

Same. Apparently this had a very limited amount released and was quite rare, and in 2017 VGDB relaunched it with printed discs, manuals, box etc and sold out.
