Super Metroid X-Fusion has finally been released after around 10 years or something like that

For anyone that doesn't know, X-Fusion is a remake/reimagining of Metroid Fusion made in the Super Metroid engine.

It's probably the most ambitious and technically impressive Super Metroid hack yet.

Can someone directly send me the patch? The site is a bit out of reach for me atm.

Its a reaction video, I'm not watching that shit.
The trailer was removed from youtube. It's the only video that shows the actual trailer. You could just check the forum site I linked as well.

Wow metaquarious finally did it what a mad lad, doubt many people care but i've been waiting a long time for this!.

Comments on the download site paint a grim picture. The tl;dr is that while it is technically interesting, it makes some odd choices, isn't very fun overall, and has bad writing. So of course I had to see for myself!

Nothing really leaps out as being awful, having grown up playing terrible localizations and whatnot. That said, I'm completely stuck with 9 missiles and the morphing ball upgrade. I'll give it a fair shake as long as it doesn't expect me to do some wonk speedrun hacky crap to progress. In spite of that, first impression is decent.

Edit: yeah, can see how even the Jumping-to-Morphing-Ball roll through the gap would filter and annoy just about everyone, lol. I only know because I saw a guy on youtube do it. I pulled it off just jumping off the platform next to the gap and then felt both elated and dumb. Might need to let this one simmer a bit.

Really sad that this hack isn't what I thought it'd be, but more than that the difficulty was just... insane. Did anyone ACTUALLY play test this?
I know v 1.2 is out so there's the guy tryin' to balance the game n stuff but... feels like we were the ginea pigs to try to test it and whatnot.

Either way, technical stuff wise. Amazing hack. What was done is probably what was never done before at least at such a scale! I guess I just feel insulted a bit cuz I really love Fusion and this kinda... dunks on it if that makes sense. Either way, can't wait to see what it becomes in later versions. Would be interesting!

It looks like it's a pretty solid Romhack of the iconic Super Metroid that we all know but with elements completely based on GBA's Metroid Fusion but it looks good to be.

I was really excited for this one and at first I loved it but as I got further it just became a nightmare.
Way too hard just for the sake of it and some parts just seem to require more luck than skill.
Overall, it just felt like a chore to play so I stopped.

Too bad cause visually and technically, this hack is amazing...

Nightmare? What do you expect. It's Fusion.

I finally started it. Playing the 1.2 version on normal difficulty with the super metroid physics patch. I don't know what the difficulty of the older versions was like but this one seems pretty good so far. The first boss is kicking my ass a bit but otherwise the difficulty seems pretty good so far.

I'm not sure if what I did was intentional, but there was a section where bomb jumping worked and I got to another section that seems to require even more bomb jumping which I have not practiced, just lucked out. I didn't see any other way to get to where I wanted to go (unless I missed something). Got me in the mood to play Fusion again on the GBA though.

Bomb jumps can be timed to the beat of the Lower Norfair music.

In this hack, bomb jumping is especially easy.
