Have you played the Super Metroid+Link to the Past Combo Randomizer?

It takes two of my favorite games, randomizes all the loot, and then lets you explore BOTH games (you can travel back and forth at certain locations). I absolutely love this game!

Playing this randomizer is like playing each game for the first time again, and I love it! You never know what item you're going to find and what area of the map it will allow you to explore next. You end up doing things in a crazy order, and it can be a challenge to figure out what you can go do with the tools you currently have.

You can get it at https://samus.link/ You have to provide roms for SM and ALttP and then it patches it for you.
You play it on a SNES emulator.
There is an information page on that site that gives all the details.

That's crazy man, 2 of the greatest SNES games with a randomizer

Great romhacks ::dkapproves

I have a few friends who absolutely LOVE this. They stream it regularly and do races with one another. I am not good enough at either to even have a clue how to play it properly. But if you are a diehard fan of both games, this is definitely something you need to try at least once.

Yeah it helps a LOT if you're familiar with both games. For example, if you open a chest somewhere and get the Fire Rod, it helps to know "oh I can go do the lost woods dungeon in the dark world now". If you aren't familiar with Super Metroid or A Link to the Past, go play those games instead because they are some of the best ever!

They play randomizers where it can softlock you out of the game completely. Nothing is ever in the right place and the thing to jump super high you need as Samus, is after a superjump section. Their maps get randomised in the Metroid world but only the items in the Link world seem to be randomised.

They also play it in a team of 4, so if one person picks up an item it is shared between all 4 players. Which ends up with some really fun streams and people getting the same item over and over in different seeds. lol

oh yeah there's a bunch of wild settings you can do to make it challenging or whatever. But the normal settings make it so that you can't get softlocked and you don't need pro tricks to beat it. Thats the category I fall under lol

There is a big community of people who play this with each other over discord. I could see if I can find the official page for it, if you are interested?

Super Metroid was one of those games I never played until recently, a lot of the Nintendo games I missed out on as a kid.

But Super Metroid, I could not put down. The atmosphere alone is perfect. It is a HEAVY yes.
