the name a direct stab at the King kong lawsuit that Nintendo won. i'll find it hilarious that was a direct insult to Universal City Studio. for the stupid failed lawsuit. that had no ground proof infringement of any assents or likeness. other then donkey kong which did not hold up still in count and result in Nintendo Winning the Lawsuit.

Since the name Donkey Kong did get Nintendo in trouble with King Kong back then, i wonder if they added the name for the lulz

As a curiosity, the levels of the game are taken from the Original Trilogy but chosen at random and also that it is more linear than the original trilogy and also that the music is taken from other games, especially Super Mario Bros. from Super Mario Collection ~ Super Mario All-Stars but adapted in the Mega Drive/Genesis. and also that playably it is less polished and fluid than in the original trilogy.
