Sister hack to GoodLuckTrying's own SNES version, this contains many of the same graphical changes. Now players can enjoy the GBA version's exclusive content as Artoria as well.

Author(s): GoodLuckTrying
Type: Graphics
Version: 1.6
Date: 28th of October, 2025
Status: Fully Playable
Source: https://romhackplaza.org/romhacks/s...artoria-edition-gba-version-game-boy-advance/

RB's Notes: I realize the hack isn't formally called Artoria Edition Advance, but I thought it sounded nice, helps distinguish it better from the SNES version and is in line, stylistically, with what SNES-to-GBA ports actually ended up named.

Yes me too except I started using version numbers finally. I got sick of replacing versions I had that I thought were outdated but its because I forgot the version number. (slaps own face)

I know it will be good then! I like both the gba and snes versions.
Yeah I just nix version numbers in the filename entirely, and put them in the readme inside the 7z (if nothing else it'd be like 'v1.5.txt' etc). This way I can drop the new archive into Batocera and not have to re-scrape, and old gamesaves work fine.

Edit: goes for regular emulators being desirable too. Changing the filename breaks saves.

RE: renaming to one's own conventions: I rename nearly everything I grab or patch myself to my own liking. Old romhacks had an irritating habit of crediting every single person that had anything to do with it in excruciating detail in the filename itself, so I try to summarize changes in a very concise way.

Also: often the ROM is named in a very shit manner by the patch itself, and you just have to.

I'm literally playing this alongside the SNES version one stage at a time as I write this.:loldog

Inferior sound and screen crunch aside, I'm surprised by how good the GBA port is. It's still the "Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts" that I know and love.

(I think it's worth noting that Wolfric (GoodLuckTrying) is currently working on a sprite hack for the Genesis game.)

Next time, put a respective cover. For a moment i think than was a hack than improves the basic game (like remove to the slowdown from "Super Ghouls N Ghost" than was made weeks ago).
The very first message, literally, states it is a placeholder. There is no custom cover as of yet, so please be patient.

Honestly the GBA version though it's pretty decent port for a port based on the Super Famicom/Super Nintendo version but it suffers from having a narrower height field of view than in the SFC/SNES version which went from 224 to 160 (V) and 256 to 240 (H) making the game more difficult especially in the platforming parts and also that the sound section is not better than in the original although it was redone from scratch but good.

But the Good Side is that it has the Restoration characteristics like the SFC/SNES Version and It feels like the 2nd best version of the game at least.

This patch works together with the restoration patch. I applied the restoration patch first, then this one. I tested it yesterday.
