Suikoden I&II remaster on Steam, thoughts?

Sorry I don't have steam version but I did watch playthrough of remaster ver they are based of Suikoden psp ver if you life impoverished UI or quality of life fast forward or those if you like the new graphics then go with Steam for me though I prefer the ps1 ver I found like the camera angle on duel epscially the Suikoden 1 man why the camera is pike that.

If it s on steam, modders will soon fix any problems. And yes, kind steam will always have sale time.

New graphics are mixed. Some looks good, some looks odd. Overall still a straight upgrade.
New script is good. More accurate, clear, and consistent for the names, terminologies, and dialogues. No extreme text censorship but some dialogues felt different with the new translation.
QoLs are fantastic. Dash and diagonal moves are the best. Difficulty options are also nice. More can be added though, like a more clear equipment UI.

It s a good remaster but probably not good enough for the classic fans to get before mods and sales, for now.
Get it now though if you have extra to spend, to support the devs.

The reviews for the Suikoden HD Remasters have been overwhelmingly positive, but I didn't care for the new look they chose for both games. The developers behind the new visuals removed a great deal of artistry from the original tile sets for the sake of a cleaner and flatter look. This is a matter of taste, of course, and don't let me get in the way of you enjoying it, but as a fan of the originals these HD Remasters really bummed me out.

This video is, admittedly, a bit nitpicky, but it highlights some of the issues I have with Suikoken's HD remastering:

It's really good and honestly worth the price. You could always wait for a steam sale to pick it up if you need to. I totally recommend you get it if you like rpgs.
Yes, my main issue is the price being 50€; it just sounds way too high for two games, unless they are extremely good. But I think I will wait for a sale, though.

Thanks, will definitely check out the video.

Especially when they overprice their products: I ain't paying 50€ or 70€ for a mediocre game.
That's my take as well. I can't speak to the quality of this, but knowing it was built on top of the PSP Suikoden I&II that they didn't think enough of to bring out in the US back at the time that I would've happily paid full price for it, I've also got some old spite over this one that I'm okay with too.

The scaling on the environments is all crazy. It just doesn't look good compared to the original.

It's 30% off on Instant Gaming... The problem is that what you buy there obviously doesn't count as a purchase on Steam...
