Suggest me a standalone game, that is one and done and complete and have no franchises?

Ikaruga is implied to be a mainline sequel. The Stone-Like Being shows up as the final boss. The exact same one from Radiant Silvergun. Killing it permanently, ends the time loop for good. Though you don't need to know what's going on to enjoy the game.

Speaking of Treasure, Dynamite Heady. I do recommend Gunstar Heroes and Gunstar Super Heroes. Super Heroes is a sequel, but at the same time, is a glorified remake with a much deeper story line, when playing on the harder modes.

Ristar is a pretty good one-off.
Sorry for the off-topic question, but how do you blur the text like that? Been looking for a solution but I'm probably not searching for it correctly.

No problem. Type this out in-between your sentences/words/paragraphs/etc:

[I-SPOILER][/I-SPOILER]

Just take out the hyphens in brackets, because I only put them in their as a visual example. Otherwise, it won't work. You don't have to bold it either, just another visual example I did. It's called an Inline Spoiler.

Dragon Force (here in the USA) - Japan got a sequel but it never made its way here.

Blur (PS3,Xbox360)
Blazing Chrome
Guardian Heroes (although there is "kinda" a sequel on the GBA)
Astal (bad ass Sega Saturn only game)

Guardian Heroes (although there is "kinda" a sequel on the GBA)
Yeah, but most fans don't like to talk about that one. It's why I offered the spiritual successor, Code of Princess. It was made by ex-Treasure developers. Gameplay wise, it feels more like a proper sequel than Advanced Guardian Heroes.

Try out Hi-Fi Rush too.

You asked for a standalone game. I offer: Broken Helix

Sadly the repo only has the PSP conversion and not the original PS1 but we work with what we have. Aside from the controls being very of the time (i.e. take some getting used to), the game itself is pretty good its basically a 90's Bruce Campbell movie in game form, even including the man himself.

Dark Souls 1 if you pretend the others don't exist
Kingdoms of the Dump I've recently finished and it's one of the best games I've played all of last year!

Brave Fencer Musashi (PS1) immediately comes to mind..
There's a sequel on PS2! However, it was a bit meh so I'm okay not counting it lol. Love the first game though.

Ugh now that I'm thinking about it, maybe I'll try the PS2 one again because it's been like 15 years since I tried it lmao. I could be wrong.

So, I remember playing Grim Fandango a while back and I realized, that while it has a remaster, it never got a sequel and to be honest, it never needed. The entire story of Manny Calevera has been told from start to end, and I have experienced everything that was to experience from this world.
Then there are cases like D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die or The Order 1886 that were clearly setting up for a sequel but never got it, and so what we got was just half the story.

So what I want suggestions for are games that were always supposed to be one-off, and they pulled it off successfully in telling a complete coherent story/journey from start to end.
Some usual suspects I would get out of the way that I have already know of or have played:
* Grim Fandango
* L.A. Noire
* Stubbs The Zombie
* Lost Odyssey
* Bully
* Heavy Rain
* Indigo Prophecy
* Shadow Of The Colossus
* Ico
* Braid
* Fez
-Asura's Wrath
-Snatcher
-Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure
-Mirrors (PC88)

Black Rock Shooter The GAME an Insanely good 10 hour RPG for the PSP. It has Fantastic story and a really cool take on RPG combat. Thou it is technically a franchaise with OVA and the 2 anime shows. All of them are standalone with different universes. Only thing that makes them connected are the desing of the main character. But I do recommend the OVA and the 2012 Anime since they are awesome too.

Another really sick one of game is Bujingai for the PS2. Altough it starts a bit lackluster at first after level 3 it starts to kick ass and never stops till the end. It is similar to Ninja Gaiden Black but with a uniqe defence/clashing mechanic. You can check out CVIT's video on it. He explains it really well. Story is pretty non existent but the cutscenes look real nice.
