Strange modern phenomenons

The fact that you have to pay an expensive extra subscription for online console services these days, even though you already pay a base rate for your own internet connection.

It's such a shitty move that only Microsoft could have come up with, but at least their console was the first of the big three to bite the dust,
Sega required a subscription as well on the DC. As for Sony and Nintendo I think you had to buy a hard drive for the first and a special peripheral for the other.

but the fact remains that I can't complete all the trophies or play online with my friends unless I spread my wallet open even wider...
Now that I agree (even if I try the best to ignore achievements to enjoy a game).

It honestly shocks me how people react to being shown kindness nowadays, as if they expected strings to be attached to every little thing.

I don't know what kind of world we are running here, but I'm not a fan of people being openly wary of someone else taking two minutes off their life to show them how to get somewhere or helping them in a pinch (hell, even something as simple as stepping aside or letting them go before me in a line is reacted to with either exaggerated thankfulness or some sort of fear).
I know this way too well .
Im working at the Gas-Station in germany and i see it as important aspects of my job to be helpfull and friendly towards the customers .

Nothing is self-explained and everything has a reason no matter how trivial or banal it is . But that people take those small things that are important for the job automatically as something more to it which weirds me a little bit out . Im just doing my job how its supposed to be .

The absence of cash.
Sweden is almost entirely cash-free nowadays, and while it’s practical, it kind of makes it easier to spend frivolously when your money isn’t physical.

All of the hatred, there's just so much of it. On top of that we have a sharp decline in critical thinking and the investigative process for simple discussions. The amount of misinformation people guzzle up nowadays because it reaffirms their hatred is mind boggling. People used to be hateful and spiteful sure but now it's profitable, popular and topical. Like did we really need to slide into stereotyping people based on what game they like? It's just gone to such an extreme that no one sees how crazy it is.

Corporate Defenders. Why is it that when someone has a complaint about some new corporate outrage like paid online, massive price increases on consoles and subscription services or needing to participate in a subscription service to get your pokemon's ultimate upgrade and so forth, there's always someone around to defend this outrage. Why? What do they get from this? By defending that outrage, the resistance gets diluted, the company gets some relief and then plans a new outrageous very profitable proposal that lowers the quality of gaming life

I notice that a number of youtubers I watch, particularly ones focusing on gaming news usually comment and mock some corporate defender who commented on a past video so it's not just me taking note of this.

ipad kids and AI babies. The kids are NOT alright. We'll have Idiocracy in 20 years.
