Start a board for millennials to talk to each other?

Basically a board for 30+ people who grew up with most of the games hosted on CD Romance. Not saying people should have to be age checked or whatever. Just a board nominally for the older posters to congregate on and discuss games if they choose.

I would honestly rather go back to dial-up than have to wait 15 damn minutes for a game to load (though I have sometimes had to wait almost an hour or two for a game to download off steam). It's amazing what the human mind can tolerate

I don't know that it's a good thing, but I feel like those long load times taught me to multitask. Like, "oh, I'm booting up [whatever game]" let me read part of this comic or fold my laundry"

There's an old episode of this Podcast I used to listen to, "Retroforce Go!" that had an episode about the C64. Basically one of the hosts went and made himself a sandwich during load times

Personally, I th9nk it's a good idea.
I tend to talk about sex stuff or other adult related topics, and am not always sure when it is an appropriate audience to discuss with or joke around them; that said, it doesn't really seem to matter to anyone if you do cross that line, so I've been tip-toeing around it carefully so as not to be some teenagers first exposure to some horrifying fetish or otherwise societally frowned-up9n behaviors.

I think that would be more in line with the old, password-protected, invitation-only +18 sub forums found on utterly gigantic boards than with what's being proposed here.

That said... It wouldn't be the worst idea in the world -- it did use to work.

Invitation-only would be a great way to have mature conversations about adult-specific topics without letting the 'adults' who are obviously mentally handicapped know about it and therefore, feel 'left out'.

Edit: I apologize in advance for the butthurt people who misinterpret the intent here are bound to have, it's just that I've dealt with so many situations where these 'adults' feel excluded, but really it's for not only their own good, but the healthy state of the conversation. I don't need to have discussions about sex with someone who's mentally an 8 year old.
