I don't often play online games but I like this one and now a new expansion has been released Legacy of the Sith.
Let me explain what it is about :

An Ongoing Conflict

The war between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire spreads to new worlds! Dangerous fringe groups rise in the dark corners of the galaxy and Darth Malgus pursues an unknown plan… Unravel these mysteries and more as your choices continue to shape the galaxy.

Combat Styles
Players can now separate their Class Story from gameplay style for an even greater customization experience. This frees up Advanced Class options as characters can choose any Advanced Class within the Tech or Force playstyle! Play as a Trooper wielding a Sniper Rifle, or a Sith Inquisitor with a lightsaber in each hand, or even secretly use Dark Side powers while posing as a member of the Jedi Order.

Return to the Underwater Depths
The Sith Empire has invaded Manaan to seize its abundance of kolto, a vital medical resource on all sides of the war. Battle through underwater facilities for control of the planet with separate Imperial and Republic Storylines. Completing the Manaan storyline will unlock a new base of operations for your faction!

Explore a Ruined Sith Fortress

The story continues on the planet Elom with the discovery of a ruined Sith Fortress that was mysteriously erased from all records. Rumors persist that Darth Malgus--on the hunt for ancient relics throughout the galaxy--may have found something critical to the future of the Jedi and the Sith. This new storyline will be available both as a solo experience as well as a multiplayer Flashpoint!

That's it, I'm still at the very beginning but it's good.

Just fyi, it's actually called "The Old Republic" not "Knights of the Old Republic".
This is an important distinction because KOTOR is a single-player game from like 2003.
Thanks, I changed it I'm not up to date formerly called Knights of the Old Republic.

I played The Old Republic when it first came out. I never played it after the first expansion though because I stopped playing MMOs.

Fun game.

Fun game.
I also only played up to this expansion Knights of the Fallen Empire then I let it go again. Now I started playing it again.

I played slightly during the winter of 2023. it was fun, but i fell out of it pretty fast

FFXIV addiction lMAO
Yeah, that's kind of the thing with this game you start it and play for a while but then suddenly you stop for whatever reason. I've started playing it again. Let's see how far I'll get this time the new expansion looks promising.

I played The Old Republic for a few days as a sith and I remember they finally made sith characters actually evil and well written, not edgy kids so only good thing about the game is sith roleplay but I dislike the way how empty and lack of quality MMO games are so I just deleted the game and never touched it. Never saw any playable MMO game whatsoever lol. They are boring even with friends.

Played it for a while when it released, but my computer could barely handle it.
I played for a bit like 2023 or something where I played an evil red twi'lek babe, and had an alright time, but I never found it to be too special, really.

I've tried playing it a few times but could never really enjoy it. It just made me wish it was a singleplayer game, to be honest, and I'd usually just end up playing KOTOR again after trying. It's incredible that the game is still going somehow, I'll give them credit there; its somehow survived liked 2 MMO crashes.

How it looks like it works the expansion Legacy of the Sith not so good it crashed a few times for me, I'm a little frustrated. 😡

tl;dr - Play one of the good class stories like Imperial Agent and you'll have a fun time if you like Star Wars stories. Treat it like a single player game with a bonus of small multiplayer sections.

I played it a good bit around Shadow of Revan then on and off for months here and there until Onslaught where I probably logged in two or three times after.

As much as people rag on the game (and for good reasons sometimes), I'll say this; I did enjoy playing a Light Side Imperial Agent. I feel picking a class with one of the better class stories gives a far better impression of the game, especially now that they've eliminated a lot of what made it an MMO by killing any need to do non-core quests and making items weird. I'd stress to do the opposite to get the optimal experience, especially with Flashpoint (dungeon) related stuff since some of it really is interesting or sets up later events, like Revan or Darth Malgus.

Now, does it get a bit weird when the stories start to converge into one universal narrative when the expansions start to go on? Sure. Some scenes absolutely had force users in mind. Does that detract from the whole thing? I'd say no, at least in the Imperial Agent case. Smuggler, Trooper, yeah, they end up feeling out of place in a few contexts.

And, as someone who played what was supposed to be the whole point of an MMO for a while; the end game? Don't bother. It was a very small community at the time on my server but even with all of the best intentions and attempts, it was clear the balancing just wasn't there. And there were so few Operations (raids) to even sink your teeth into. I think there were only four or five total when I stopped playing and that was several expansions in. There's a lot more Flashpoints (dungeons) though, and if you have some friends or can make some it's fun to do them in coordinated groups.

Play it as a single player game with the added perk of being able to group up with people for additional gameplay related fun if you want to. Soak in the story and lore and you'll have a great time. I still remember the trailer that sucked me in and I enjoyed what I got from the expansion a hell of a lot because of how invested I was in where it went:
