Star Ocean vs Tales

Two series started similar, but went in different directions after the first few games.

I would say Tales is more consistent and above average overall, but Star Ocean 2 is still better than any Tales game including Vesperia and Symphonia. Star Ocean fell off a cliff and is mostly mediocre, if not actually bad with some of it's games.

Star Ocean 2 Second story will always be my most fav Entry in Square Enix's Star Ocean series of all times,since the original Playstation 1 version of Star Ocean 2 ^^View attachment 114894

The character's haireband and hairstyle is similar to Chaz from Phantasy Star IV.

OH SHOOT, a Star Ocean thread? Here we go!

I began with the PSP remake of the original first one then hoped with Second Story R. Beat both of them and really enjoyed, even if the plot have some hiccups. Especially on

how dirty they did Ronyx. Really hated his death, seriously. And you can't change that with whatever run from what I understood.

I started time ago Till The End of Time on PS2. The beginning drags really quite a lot, but the main game is just fine. I still have to figure out some combat system mechanics.

You know I really miss something in SO, for crying out loud. Guess what? Multiplayer, yeah.

Tales games has manual control feature for characters in battle and you can fight side by side with your buddies through the stories.
All Star Ocean games also have tactics selection for all party members (like “Do nothing”). It just whispers to me there should be manual control mode. My greatest wish would be to have a hack doing like that for SO1-3.

Till the end of time has un-lockable battling game type, but that’s not the thing I want.
