Hello buddies. Does anyone know of any translation projects for any of the Super Robot Taisen series? Not the completed ones, but the ones in progress. Also, what happened to the in-progress translations of SRW 4 for SNES and SRW Alpha (psx) by AGTP? Does anyone have any news about them? Thanks.

[Oops!] Bump! [ouch!]. Sorry, but does anyone have any news about the Super Robot Taisen translation projects? Is it ever possible? Couldn't someone who is registered on Discord (I'm not) be able to check there (maybe AGTP Discord, among others), to see if there is a work in progress translation, perhaps hinted at or semi-hidden? Come on, I'm certainly not the only fan of this series; many would rejoice if there was any good news in this regard. Just waiting for completion is worth half the enjoyment, like for Christmas. Come on, Mazinger, Getter, Voltes, Gundam, even Boss Borot😅; Who doesn't love them? 🤩

I just download chinese translations from the china websites.

SRW4 SFC
SRW Impact PS2
SRW L DS
SRW K DS
SRW Alpha PS1, Alpha2, Alpha3 PS2
SRWZ2.1 + 2.2 PSP

The latest is Complete Box just released last weekend.

Sorta fulfills my joy though I am still waiting for Z1.

Unfortunately, they don't really host Chinese games in this website.

As far I know, SRW 4 is being worked on, but progress with AGTP projects is akin to unicorn sighting: it happens rarely and unexpectedly. Most of the code from EX is shared, so at least there's that.

SRW Alpha has been in a state I like to call "playable according to GZ", meaning a lot of outstanding bugs remain and I don't consider it playable.

Worst, going to the AGTP discord and talking about SRW4 will get hate thrown back. Anyway, I uninstalled Discord on my phone.

Here's a SRW Impact YouTube link to see how the china people are so good with their translations.

If I can't play in English, I have chinese to fall back on.

Oh yes, forgot to add.

UX and BX are also chinese translated.

I am playing BX now since I played UX in Japanese and found it ok.

One doesn't have time to play everything.

Even GBA SRWD , SRWR are also in Chinese.

The Chinese market's romhacking skills are definitely very high.

Welp, I forgot to specify that I'm referring to english translations, you know, the international language par excellence. My bad.
Wow, chinese hackers are busy, though: Three SRWAlpha games and even the Complete Box. Regarding the latter, given that it contains the remakes of SRW2, SRW3 and SRWex (already translated into english in the original versions), I always hoped that someone would port the already existing texts to those remake versions, but no one has ever put this feat into practice, which doesn't seem that difficult.
All in all, Chinese hackers would appear to be better than all the western ones combined. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for trying, I really appreciate it. 😉 Unfortunately I feared this hostility; Ever since a controversy erupted over the delayed release of the Shin Megami Tensei IF translation (which sparked the anger of some stupid fans), Gideon Zhi's (and his team) helpful attitude has changed abruptly and his dedication to the projects has diminished considerably and, in any case, now everything happens in complete secrecy, alas. Thanks again.

Yes, I am aware you are referring to the English translations.

I highlighted Chinese because the china market is huge on their own in terms of hacking and translating. I am a Singaporean Chinese so I speak+write both English and Chinese. When there isn't an English abled translation, I have the chinese side to fall back on, thankfully.

Now is hoping the english part of the world can catch up. If it is said the english side cannot surpass the possible barriers, such as in Alpha for example, then in this aspect, they could learn from maybe reverse engineering what the china market did.

I'm intrested aswell! But also any info on new translations of SD Gundam series.
SD Gundam #2 + #3 for Famicon have always been translated into Chinese much earlier than the one done by the english side for #1.

So here is hoping the english side can catch up.

I didn't know about the IF translation.

I just remembered when I was in that discord to read about SRW4, someone asked and was badly roasted about it. Plus, they highlighted something like, no translation requests, no talking about translations. And when you read about SRW4, it is 2023.

Ok, since I am a mere mortal with no knowledge of gaming hacking etc, just a player only, I could only wait and wait and wait. So maybe, there might never be any SRW4 English to be released.

But I played SRW Titans Wars, a romhack of SRW4. The Japanese are very good with hacks too. Yes, I have limited Japanese reading abilities. So I just make do with what I can anyway. After all, like I said, just being a mere mortal.

Hey @Ocarina , can you satisfy my curiosity? Has Super Tokusatsu Taisen 2001 (psx) been translated into chinese? It's a fantastic and unique game, with several tokusatsu characters from the seventies and eighties and short original films from the era. I don't think it will ever be translated into english, as it contains an immense amount of text and dialogue. Perhaps chinese hackers have also accomplished this enormous feat... 🤔

No Chinese. I was looking out for it on the Chinese translated list many months ago. Didn't see it.

Panzer Warfare is translated too though. I am surprised such a rare SRW game also got translated into Chinese. That's my next game to play.

well just going to wait for the free screenshot pc game translator software.

I posted about this elsewhere in the forum:

In a nut-shell, Gaminik is the best option I've found and it works on both Android and PC. They have a free tier, but I just pay the monthly fee, it's not much anyway.

How long until we get AI's to fully translate the games on their own?
We're there, but in terms of user friendliness it's still early days, but improving month by month at a staggering rate.

thanks. gonna try it.

Incredible! After some time after opening this thread, Gideon Zhi finally updated his site with some great news. Hmm... I don't think it's a coincidence, maybe someone informed him that there was still interest in his SRW4 project. Who knows...
Hmm... so the karaoke and the initial title translations are missing for now (who cares?).... well, at least he could release a beta version in the meantime, god willing. Anyway, let's not push our luck too much! 😅
We are talking about the history of rom hacking: twenty years or more of activity. Kudos! Go AGTP!!!

Congratulations for the short and clear sentences, and the excellent use of punctuation. It really shows that you are a native english speaker. 🤣... 🤷🏻‍♂️

I used to buy Japanese Game Guide Books for SRW.

& After I gave all the books away, I also use this site http://www.srworld.net/gonglue/srw.htm

Along with other Japanese sites that I could find along the way. Especially for cheat codes because the Japanese and Chinese side list out all the possibilities. Unlike what I find in the English sites.

The Chinese have a lot of resources to do a lot of things. Thus I did say if the western side could maybe reverse engineer what they did, maybe the English stuff could be out earlier.

That the problem the mod don’t give crap about Japanese or Chinese fans of srw because when I used be on discord they say we can do with out any help they know more about super robot wars but in reality they don’t know anything because they refuse to get help from Japanese or Chinese fans so yay

I have yet to see a really good mod hack done by the western side like how SRW F Final v3.01 was made By the china chinese community.

The Japanese side has a number but too many variations.

Hahaha... ambiguity of certain english terms. @Ocarina, I think by "mod" he meant site moderator and not modification (hack). This is what it seems from his long sentence, strictly without commas or punctuation. 🤦🏼‍♂️

I fully agree! But I'm afraid the chinese don't release open sources of their work, alas. And then there is the language barrier, which prevents us from being able to communicate effectively, especially on specific technical issues. 🤷🏻‍♂️
