About the ROM files: On October 31, 2025, a complete ROM of Splatterworld was anonymously released on 4chan. It was quickly archived by fans and was initially playable only in the FCEUX emulator because it used a rare Namco mapper. The leak made the full game accessible for preservation and future translation work. These are 3 roms I found with different CRCs, from what I assume is the exact same thing with maybe different headers. You're also complaining about a disclaimer in a readme, who cares? They censored nothing.
Also, the point is some people might complain about the fact that they didn't censor that, or somehow hold him responsible for the content. So he put a disclaimer to try and prevent that possibility.

uh?? being hold responsible for a videogame from the 80' having depictions of dead dictator's in chibi form, and they dont even talk or are even named , thats just silly and goofy, do better. : )

I am not talking about specifically this translator, but if we are talking disclaimers, putting one where the translator group lists everything they changed would be nice, so people could make informed choice if it matters for them or not. Also, it would help other translators who might use it as a basis for their own translation, because Japanese is much harder than English.
Btw, if anybody finished it already, can you say how long it is, I want to try it, but I don't have time(

According to Ghideon Zhi of Aeon Genesis, text translation is complete. Now it's only a matter of time before the patch is released.....or stuck in limbo like some other Aeon Genesis projects.
