Wither you use a softmod or a hardmod, wither you use a Wii or a Wii U, wither you use Nintendont, Dios Mios, WiiGator, or "somehow" get Devolution to work with this, wither you use overclock mode or not, results shall be the same.
V2.4.6 does not work on Wii and Wii U, it results on a black screen and a soft lock.
V2.4.0.1 only works with a special modified version of Nintendont (already included in the rar file though you can also get it from the official website in case of an update).
Now, despite having a hardmodded GC I don't have a way to test this unfortunately so Idk how compatible is this with the GC but both versions shall run fine via Dolphin.
However, in the future who knows, maybe an updated version will get support to run on real hardware, or maybe an update of Nintendont will add support for V2.4.6+
Top notch hack. Tested the 2.4.0.1 ISO via Riders Nintendont. 2.4.6 is buttery-smooth on good ol' Dolphin, as expected.
This may be trivial (and it is), but Blaze, Silver, and Tikal retain their English voices, even with the Japanese voice option turned on. Wonder if that's intentional?

As I said I used Nintendont Riders on my Wii with unshrunked iso. All what I did is used the .iso file from the link developer gave me, and played it through Nintendont Riders. Here's a link to Nintendont Riders - https://github.com/nfsman34/Nintendont-SonicRiders
Heh... I feel silly, I was heavily involved during the development of Dios Mios and later Nintendont yet I've not known about this.
Thank you for this, I will test later on both Wii and WiiU.
Sadly, this means I won't be able to use the Wii U gamepad (I was not successful in converting Wii .dol homebrew to Wii U WUP files and the Wii emulators I have I found preconverted online) but I can use a doulshock connected via USB which is my prefered method.
How did you get it to work? I get similar results to the other version, runs on dolphin but crashes on real hardware, although instead of black screen this one shuts down the system, both on Wii and WiiU, although on WiiU I get as far as getting the GC boot up screen then the Sonic Riders loading screen fir like a second before the system shuts down, I even tried to shrink down the file size like last time with the same exact results, at this point I think it's safe to assume bigger file size has nothing to do with it.
I also noticed you shrunk the iso, or maybe used an already shrunken one? I'm not sure if this can cause issues or not (it's been a long, long time since I've been involved in the development of Dios Mios and Nintendont) but you don't happen to have the unshrunken iso, do you?

If I remember Miku was not added until v2.3 but maybe I'm misremembering, I too would like to play as Miku on real hardware even if she is only a reskin of Ulala.
I also asked them to share the link and as of currently I still haven't gotten an answer. I'm gonna try 2.2 when I get it because I really want to play hatsune miku, and if it's not playable we're doomed....

Thank you for contacting the devs, yeah I can understand why they are not interested in adding compatibility with real hardware, it is unfortunate though, I wish they at least explained what broke it from running on real hardware since they claim it used to run, maybe I should check version 2.0... Did they mention any source to where to get earlier builds?
This is the issue in general with PC gamers tbh, they seem to assume everyone has access to a gaming PC just laying around, who wants to bother hook up a gaming console in 2025? Everyone and their grandma's playing on a PC (nah, they are playing on their smartphone, actually).

I contacted dev on discord and this is what they said:
"Previous versions of SRTE are playable on a wii. I can pass you a link if you wish. I am also certain that Swiss can run oversized isos.
You are right about the current patch not working. As of right now there are no plans to make the current patch playable. The game's scene is almost entirely active on the dolphin emulator. This even extends to our irl appearances at big conventions like sonic expo.
Regardless we may visit this at some point in the future. It's just not at the front of our to do list."

I've tested it on a modded Wii and a modded WiiU with overclock, I even managed to successfully shrink the iso file down to 1.3 gb which is the size of an official GC disc and maintain most of the content with the game running perfectly on an emulator, still black screens on real hardware, at this point it seems to do with the .dol file itself it's probably been altered enough which results in a black screen on start up, maybe if somebody can contact the devs over at discord or something, I'd love to tinker some more if I can have this baby running on real hardware, is strange as Sonic Riders DX runs fine on real hardware but this hack imo is more interesting.

Has anyone found a way to play on gamecube since it black screens when loading up after gamecube bootup, swiss recognizes it,Previous sonic riders DX 2.0 worked just not this one.XD want to play as miku on the gamecube on real hardwere hehe,Thank you for any help or info truly appericated.
My theory is the reason for the black screen on real hardware is that the mod is bigger than what a traditional GC disc can hold.
If so, theoretically there are two solutions they could do, either split the game in half as two discs like the Konami TMNzt games did it (if set up properly you won't even notice the split on Nintendont and Dios Mios as pulling data from another disc switches automatically)
The other, and imo better solution, is to make the patch customizable, let the player pick and choose what content they want, for example, this mod adds the Japanese voices, while a nice addition they aren't necessary and the original GC release did not have them, also so many music tracks that seem unnecessary.
A lot of extra content that takes up so much space can be cut down like the cutscenes too, I'm not saying they aren't good additions but it would be nice to let the player customize what features they'd like at least to run on real hardware.
In fact, I'm now curious to test it myself, see if I can delete some files and create a version small enough to run on real hardware, no promises it will works but I'll take a shot at it.
