Maybe I should give it another try. I'll admit that I was a big fan of SRB2Kart, so I was shocked how different the game felt, and I never really got accustomed to it. I can't recall how far I ended up getting, but if they've changed some of the rubberbanding, I'll take another look at it.That's fair! They updated it a week after release to fix the rubberbanding AI and allow skipping the tutorial. But I think Ring Racers as a game concept is going to be love/hate for most people. It took me like 9-10 cups into the singleplayer before the mechanics really clicked. If you're in it for the pick up and play mayhem, you'll probably still prefer Kart. I can say that Ring Racers is leaps and bounds a better experience once you surpass the learning curve, but not everyone has the time or desire to invest doing so. And that's fine.
Oh! Important to note that I spent my first ~80 hours exclusively in singleplayer. They said they wanted to make a huge solo experience and boy did they deliver. There's so much to do there that even now I've barely touched multiplayer. But I feel like I would have bounced off the game had I jumped online immediately. It'd be hard to get better at the game with no idea what's going on. And on that note, I think the online manual does a better job explaining things than the ingame tutorial. Though the lore is still cute.
No. Currently there’s barely any other SEGA characters. It is a Sonic game so Sonic majority is kinda expected tbh.Is the roster from All-Star Racing there? I don't care that much about all Sonic characters and non-Sega stuff to be honest.
I want to see the older Sega IPs before anything else.
I don’t think it’s that deep. SEGA puts popular characters in as DLC quite often. Persona 5 Royal alone was full of nods to other SMT entries down to SMT 1’s Kichijoji, not to mention Metaphor or the HD Etrian Odyssey remasters having SMT portraits. The same just happened to Crossworlds. Joker, Ichiban, and Miku are currently popular characters associated with SEGA. Steve is an interesting choice though, makes me wonder if DLC will just be other franchises or if they’ll actually lock in and add SEGA franchises. Low key, it’d be funny if they add in Dragon Quest for Ichiban.I think that CrossWorld needing Miku to be popular just proves how Sonic has fallen as a gaming icon for the mainstream public. Even in Japan he's not that popular compared to the rest of the world.
Then I'm not that interested in this game.No. Currently there’s barely any other SEGA characters. It is a Sonic game so Sonic majority is kinda expected tbh.
