I look forward to this project’s completion. Amy the Rascal & Classic Tails are a must for me. Especially Tails.

Unlikely but I wonder if they'll edit her gamestyle too, but visually the item boxes and springs also need to be edited.

Damn. When I saw the title I was hoping this was going to be some sort of Sonic Pocket Adventure port. Instead, its nothing.

Same, I got excited for a sec thinking that too. Then just to see it was only a sprite swap of not even all the characters.

I googled this image and used it in a mockup I created for the Rom hack to represent it, hope that's alright as I did credit the artist.

Did you put together this cover art for the upload? (I'm not mad I'm just curous) Or was it from the original source? And what is the source, anyway? I'm wondering because the sprites are really nice, but I can't find any other posts about this hack to check. I see the credit on this description but that person seems to have used (with credit) someone else's sprites on their few Deviantart posts and I can't find any mention of a rom hack, so I'm just super curious where this comes from. Thanks!

I low key kind of agree. Sonic Mania is, very strangely, a retro loveletter that is a lot better as a first introduction to the series rather than for long time fans due to just how much of the content is reused from the genesis games. Like it's a great game, but most of it is game I've already played, in games that were much more original and cohesive. Also, Mania and Superstars' stories are completely incomprehensible, I have no idea what's going on in either game

I've been vocal on my spicy hot take that I'm honestly not a fan of Sonic Mania, I tried to like it but it just feels like a lazy copy/pasted Rom hack of Sonic 3 and the downgrade especially hurts playing it after the amazing Sonic Advance set the bar so high.

I honestly think the same! I absolutely love Sonic Mania but like... Is it weird that I consider that game as a "Sonic the Hedgehog 3 2: Electric Boogaloo" instead?
My brain works in mysterious ways, and I'll stop before talking the "new Sonic 4 logic" I thought about some time ago with a friend of mine :V
