Port of the Game Gear title to the Sega Master System, honestly not the best way to play the game, the extra screen is actually garbage data, making it a bit confusing to play, unless you wanna play this on real hardware or using a Master System only emulator I recommend playing the GG version instead as this version does not give you any extra viewpoint. With the expanded field of view it will be more enjoyable (sort of)
The expanded view mostly consists of garbage data.

You're better off judging playing the Game Gear version.

This hack (among, like, 95% of GG2SMS hacks) is a prime example of how desperately it needs to be further updated. Not only was the last update from all of the way back in 2017 (8 YEARS AGO), there's a ton of garbage data during gameplay.
I agree, this may not be my favorite game in the series but I'd still like an update to this, the view area may actually make it better too, I replayed it very recently (twice) and it kinda grew on me.

The worst Sonic game on the Game Gear at least had a port for the Sega Master System version but made by the community and although it is wider than the base version but suffers from scrolling problems and glitches although it is also due to the fact that the game is not designed to be played in 256x192 but the attempt was made although possibly in the future those graphical errors can be solved for the game. but also this version has the same problems as the Game Gear version such as having an imprecise gameplay especially when you do the spin dash, the inability to jump, the game levels are monotonous in getting the keys to advance to the next level and some bosses are unfair because of the bad hitbox and bugs that damage the game experience, although graphically and the soundtrack are not so bad.
