Neat. Yeah, MainMemory's been doing this stuff for quite a while. You know I'm friends with the creator of this mod, MainMemory, as well as several other popular Sonic mods.

This one: https://gamebanana.com/tools/15436which mod manager? there is the 2004 one in nexus.
and there is the X HAX one in gamebanana which i downloaded from his github.
which mod manager? there is the 2004 one in nexus.Just use the SA mod manager. It should work with both versions of SADX.
You keep misreading my posts. I'm saying that if you installed the DC mods for the game, the mods will convert the Steam version to the 2004 port for better mod compatibility. It's not about giving you the Gamecube experience. That's all I'm saying, man. Both this and the Steam version with mods are basically the same, because they are both running with the same mods installed. The same mod manager for the steam version, SAModManager, works with this version too, and the mods will work for both.Everything you have posted here I already knew before i even purchased the Steam version.
I didn't just buy it there just for that crappy GameCube like experience, I did so with SAModManager in mind, and no it did not convert to DC without me realizing it.
Come on now... think, If I have the hardcopy for a Dreamcast, obviously i'm looking for DC conversion with mods.
Everything you have posted here I already knew before i even purchased the Steam version. Not saying you need it, but if you have the Dreamcast mods, there's a chance that your game was already converted without you even realizing it. The SADX modding community went out of their way to convert the Steam version of the game to the 2004 version simply because the Steam version was botched, and the older version had better support for mods.
Just use the SA mod manager. It should work with both versions of SADX.does the 2004 mod manager work on this? or it will break it?

The SADX modding community went out of their way to convert the Steam version of the game to the 2004 version simply because the Steam version was somehow even more botched than previous releases, and the older version had better support for mods. If you use "Dreamcast Conversion" on the Steam version, it'll turn it into the 2004 version, while keeping the Steam features.Incredible post.
Still don't need it. I have the original Dreamcast hard copy at hand along with imo the superior steam version with SAModManager, if i need to play any of the vastly forgettable game gear/master system titles, Emulation.
Incredible post.Oh, no!

Sega basically botched SA/SADX with each subsequent re-release, going from DC to GC to PC, then to 360/PS3, then porting that version back to PC for Steam. The Steam release barely worked at launch, and the unlockable Game Gear games from the GC and 2004 PC version were removed, so fans had to take it upon themselves to fix things, making it arguably the definitive experience, as long as you don't care about DC exclusive features involving the VMU or the GC exclusive features with the GBA link cable and the Tiny Chao Garden minigame in Sonic Advance 1 and 2.

At first glance the file structure and game icon from the Steam version looks to line up with the one on the repo, so theoretically you should be able to use the mod manager on the repo version to get a definitive DRM-free version of the game. I'll have to tinker with this when I have a spare moment. The steam version with SAMod Manager is still the best imo. has all the dreamcast assets, the lantern engine intact plus randomizers, custom day/night cycles, lots of fixes.

Also the PC version has a re-translation mod that let's you play the game with subtitles that are more accurate to the Japanese script if you prefer to play Sonic games with the JP voices.Dreamcast is the purist way to play it, but this is the recommended way to play it on PC since you get the benefits of the PC/GC version (widescreen, 60 fps, skippable cutscenes, free camera, map, missions mode, updated Chao Garden, Metal Sonic, ripple effects, GG titles, etc) while fixing many of the glitches that came with those remasters.
Edit: I might share Crazy Taxi later, same deal.
Also probably slightly less input lag than playing on an emulator. Not sure how important that is since I've never played the game beyond saying hi to that gorgeous whale in level 1 <3Dreamcast is the purist way to play it, but this is the recommended way to play it on PC since you get the benefits of the PC/GC version (widescreen, 60 fps, skippable cutscenes, free camera, map, missions mode, updated Chao Garden, Metal Sonic, ripple effects, GG titles, etc) while fixing many of the glitches that came with those remasters.

Or stick with a Dreamcast emulator?
