Genesis Sonic 3 & Knuckles "Story Telling"

I think Sonic 3 & Knuckles is weaker. For one Sonic 3 & K is just Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2 Again. Has the same level themes (2 grass levels, underground water level, ruin level, theme park level if you consider a casino a theme park for adults, base level, airship level, cave level, space level), its easier, adds more stuff that barely amounts to anything.
Remember, two halves of the same game. Don't consider them separately. Of course the differences will be minimal. If you were forced to buy 2 carts to play CV4 entirely, it would be the same problem.

Repeated level themes are nothing new, it's just easier to notice by the third rodeo.

Yea theres mini bosses and too be honest how many of them are actually good? I always remember the lumberjack boss where it just throws logs in a set pattern instead of throwing them directly at the character. Bonus Stages that you only use just to get shields and rings even tho Sonic 3 & K is easy. I feel like people just like the novelty of the game just because you can use the Sonic & Knuckles cart on Sonic 1 & 2. Its neat but thats just it, its neat.
That I can agree with but I don't think it's as harmful to the pace as you propose.

Actually, the matter of Knux's color has always been a curious one to me. He always looked much less red in the Mega Drive games than later.

But the fact that they're kinda generic compare to Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2. Its bothers me seeing how people complained about Sonic being in the "real world" In Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 when you literally go through a generic jungle and Antarctica of all things in Sonic 3 & K.

The Genesis games lead into the Adventure games. It's the same world.

Yea but they never explained that.

Sonic Adventure was developed since the Sega Saturn. Saturn directly followed Genesis era and even got a Genesis collection with Sonic Jam. Sonic Jam had a 3D mode that was more or less a beta for Sonic Adventure. That's just the gameplay part. If you go deeper into some early screenshots of Adventure's development, we see Saturn era Sonic and Tails and some Saturn looking areas from Sonic Adventure such as Mystic Ruins. It's also Classic Sonic and not his Adventure design yet. That design was even left in some parts of the Dreamcast game like flying in the Tornado. There's also that flashback of Tails remembering meeting Sonic. I'm just saying the games are closely linked. Also gotta point out the Echidna prophecies they left behind for telling future events in both S3&K and Sonic Adventure 1 and 2.
