Some games that have some sort of "heavy metal" theme to them?

I've heard, so far, about Brutal Legend and Metal Hellsinger, but am willing to bet that are many more games with a similar theme out there.

Bonus points, if we're talking about anything with pixel art. Would love to see some sort of metal festival inside a pixel art indie game...maybe something that emulates the 4th Gen era. That'd be cool.

Guilty Gear series is one big rock and metal reference and at least one of the Kingdom Under Fire games was metal through and through.

For something more direct there was a Motorhead beat'em up for the Amiga.

Valfaris is brutal but amazing. The soundtrack is composed by the former guitarist of Celtic Frost.

Prince of Persia Warrior Within can be pretty metal, especially when the guardian of time chases you. Devil May Cry 3 and its guitar weapon should get an honorary mention I guess?

There's way more "off-brand" Metal midi's in the files unused too. Bobby Prince was an attorney when he did the Doom OST and knew exactly how close he could copy bands like Pantera and Metallica without pushing it legally.

Have you ever heard the 3DO port soundtrack? It's honestly better than the originals at times and it's by far the only good thing about that version.

Yeah, the same guy that made the OST for 3DO Doom also thought porting a game was as simple as copy pasting sprites from one version to another. Simultaneously responsible for the best and worst parts of that version.

Andrew Hulshult has his fingers in so many Retro FPS pies, he does such great work. His Rise of the Triad remade OST is great too.

I was about to post Lords of Thunder. One of the few, rare cases of kickass Japanese games using heavy metal soundtrack (and a great one on top of that), way before it became cool with Guilty Gear.
