I just want to ask: I'm happily the kind of guy who'd save up for an expensive collectible toy, and although I will happily look to Arcadia and/or Bandai for my Macross Plus YF-19 fix, for the VF-1, I'm torn between ThreeZero's RoboDou toy (£135 British Pounds on Show Z Store) or one of Arcadia's toys (Preferrably the Roy Fokker DYRL version which is identical to the TV ver barring hands and super/strike pack parts; £135 British Pounds on Hobbylink Japan minus shipping).

Both look really good, but I don't know which one to go with.

I hate to be difficult, but photos of the exact ones you're debating would help a lot

Here you go: ThreeZero RoboDou on top, Arcadia on bottom

Hmm. The bottom one looks like it would be more poseable (idk if that's true) but I do like the coloring of the panel outlines in the top one much better. I tell you what, I will coinflip it, best 2 of 3, with heads being top and tails being bottom:
1. heads
2. tails
3. heads
Top one, it is!

I don't know the bottom looks cooler with the blue things on its back

Macross is my favorite anime of all time, so I'm going to say the YF-1J

Oh, yeah. The VF-1J is also a pretty iconic variant, partly for being Hikaru/Rick's first mech (barring a VF-1D he piloted throughout the first two episodes), but more so for its unique head design and red stripe.
Once I've bought a collectible toy of the VF-1S and YF-19, I'd happily buy a VF-1J to go along with them.

Personally never seen the Arcadia stuff so I can't speak on it, however ThreeZero figures are usually lackluster on the accessories. Build wise it's not bad, I've seen their Optimus Prime and you can actually made out some of their joints, so if you compare it to other 1:6 this one will look more like a toy, but it got some weight to it along with nice details, it should be of similar quality.

I mistyped and meant the VF-1S lol. From your pic. The VF-1S is so peak.
