What can I say. It's been quite a fever dream ngl. The music is hella catchy tho, I can't help but think that I'm enjoying this way more than I should. Hell, especially after playing Persona 5, since it's my first Persona. I might as well just do the whole Persona series as a whole, although I am starting in an incredibly niche way. What do you all guys think about it?

In my opinion, you had fun playing. Good luck with your gameplay!.

keep in mind that PSP is a broken port and does a disrespect to a dead composer like Hidehito Aoki(his songs were removed), so... you want to get the Music Restoration and Encounter Rate patch(to get it closer to the original JP PS1 version) as well PS1-Style UI Textures(PSP's UI is ugly)

Yeah I'm getting lots of fun with the gameplay. I think the trickiest part is how your recruit Personas, but I got the jist of it and I'm learning how to get them all.

Good luck on your journey, nice to meet you, my name is Lod, I hope you have a great time. I'm still planning on playing Royal, I've always seen people playing it.

Royal is pretty good imo, I do still have to finsh the DLC, I've been putting it on hold. Also nice to meet you as well, name's Alex!

by the way, when you start to play Persona 2 duology, please, for Innocent Sin avoid PSP version and play the PS1 version instead while Eternal Punishment is fine in both PS1 and PSP

sorta related, i thought Metaphor refantazio was a better persona game and i've played all of the SMT and persona games

Good luck on your gaming journey! Thank you for following me. Have a great day

oh, while aren't Persona, maybe you would like to check SMT if...(only SNES version is translated), Devil Summoner(wait until the Spanish translation gets finished because the English translation will never happen) and Soul Hackers(3DS version is officially translated and also there's a English translation for Saturn version in progress) as are the same universe with Persona

Is there a reason as to why I should play the PS1 version over the PSP one of Persona 2? Is it more like music related or are there some relative changes?

Also I do wanna play the Metaphor game! It looks so so good, to me it looks like a mix of Persona and Fire Emblem when it comes to style.

Oh I already played some SMT games, I recently started playing SMT strange joruney and SMT Digital Devil Saga

Innocent Sin PSP version has slower gameplay, censorship, broken encounter rate, made the game easier until the point that gets boring, lack of customizable HUD, the game wasn't well adapted to 16:9 and the localization has removed extra content from japanese version like DLCs or Theater Editor

Innocent Sin PS1 version not only lacks those sins but also has a more faithful translation than the official localization that even got praised by Atlus USA staff

the only thing that you would lose to play PS1 version is the save transfer from IS to EP as IS PS1 version was never released outside of japan

thank god that Eternal Punishment PSP version is just flawless(even the gameplay got faster than the original PS1 version and the extra content is 100% worthy)

Makes sense, makes sense, I was gonna go blindly and just download but now you're making me really rethink about what to do with it. Might as well just download the damn PS1 emulator for the fuck of it and later on see P2 in the way it was supposed to be.

use Duckstation

Good luck with the emulator setup and good luck customizing the emulator.

if you wonder why there's two Persona 2, well, that's easy to answer, Innocent Sin is part 1 and Eternal Punishment is part 2

If you are wondering how easier the PSP version is, you can finish the game with the starting personas and the final boss battle is still a breeze.

Yeah I already used Duckstation on my old PC, luckily I think I'll manage it fine over here.

And yeah I get why it's a duology, hell I do have in my seam library the Baldr Sky duology (I still have to finish it...)

Becuz innocent sin is way easier on psp then the ps1 game was? And what are the other Reasons
for some reason, the devs decided to reduce the stats to every enemy, the difficulties doesn't change nothing more than how often critical attacks can get

even at the highest difficulty, PS1 version is less easy than PSP version

once again, Eternal Punishment PSP version understands this better and the Easy difficulty does the game easy, Normal difficulty is the same difficulty as PS1 version and Hard difficulty makes the game harder(stuff like No SP regeneration while walking)

@Bigheadbutsmallbrain I already mentioned the reasons here

Or dont play P3 altogether
Real they force you romance females>:[

I should try the ps1 version translated (if available) i finished it on psp but i hated the encounter rate.

I greatly enjoy it and it's the reason I like more the Shin Megami Tensei Aspect and Vibes of P1 and P2 than 3-5 those days

It's also the reason I immediately searched and played the Music Restoration romhack for PSP
Not to be dramatic, but the PSP's music change of P1 disgust me! ::angrygenjin Oh Yeah persona 4 was popular, let's port this game on PSP and kill its identity by injecting some cheerful ass music that crash with its aesthetic!

This is not PERSONA 4 to have cheerful vocal POP music! THIS IS A HORROR GAME!
I want my electronic PS1 music that fits the theme and aesthetics!

It's been a while since I played Eternal Punishment and I have yet to play Innocent Sin (I blame my friend for keep interrupting me and killing my flow for that)

I don't know about that, I value the Quality of Life aspects of PSP to go back to PS1

My only complain about Innocent Sin: It was too easy, no challenge!
