... And actually really liked it!
I realize that I haven't been the target audience for a Disney/Pixar movie for a solid two-and-a-half decades at this point, but the inner child in me never fails to get excited whenever a new one is announced... And, unfortunately, they have been a long string of failures for my personal liking, dating back to the turn of the millennium and only being interrupted by true gems like Inside Out (especially the second one) and Turning Red.
But this one, I really liked.
Without spoiling anything, I'll say that I liked how deeply flawed (and sometimes unlikable) the main character was, how they humanize the villain (and actually do something with it for once!), and how there's a simple but effective message at the center of it all. Plus, it's still a gorgeous sensory feast and delivers on all technical fronts (but that's to be expected, really).
Have you watched it? What did you think of it?
