So I decided to bite the bullet and bought a Odin 2 Pro

Interesting purchase. I unfortunately can’t comment on it but I’ve owned a couple of emulations handhelds. They’re quite great for games that were designed around smaller screens and portability.

Very nice machine I got a Retroid pocket 5 it's very similar (a bit worse?) you'll be very happy!
I have a RP4 Pro. Kinda wish i had waited longer for the 5. But at the moment it made alot more sense than spending $300+ on a Odin 2. After a while you begin to realize what you play, and dont play. And for me its alot of GBA, and PSP, which don't really require a Odin 2.

I had an Odin 2 Pro and I really liked it. It basically played anything I wanted to on it. I did eventually trade it for a Odin 2 Mini, basically the same thing but a smaller unit, since I felt that the size wasn't really working for me.

Basically it can emulate whatever can be emulated on Android. I never had any problems with emulation on it, outside of the aforementioned emulator-side issues. Like Yuzu and AetherSX2 dying.

That Mini looks really nice. I still play most of my PlayStation games on my PS VITA. The only obvious downside I can see with the Odin units are the wrong stick/d-pad layouts :P
RP4/5 has the correct one with the important d-pad on top, and the superfluous analogue sticks pushed down towards the bottom where they belong. :D

I have never owned an Android device, what is the capability like? Are these things capable of PS2 emulation? (I just dug up my PS2 and it refuses to read discs...)

Basically you can play most of the PS2 games, the developer of AetherSX2, the PS2 emulator on Android, got sick of the very annoying Android userbase, and abandoned the project. So there are some games that don't run too hot even with something as powerful as the Odin 2.

And the dpad/stick debate is always a fun one. I personally am fine either way. Some people prefer the stick on top of stick-based games are gonna be the primary control method, and vice-versa. But again, I can live with either. I've used Nintendo, Playstation, and Xbox controllers interchangeably and never really notice a huge difference with stick placement.

Mine did the same not too long ago. Pick up a MemCard Pro 2 and you can play anything using OPL.

I have a Retroid Pocket 4 which I really enjoy. I wish that it could do a better job running PS2 games. Glad to know that these handheld systems are getting there.
