Had a very life-changing moment after meeting a familiar face from my hometown. I ran into this guy on my lunchbreak; almost everyone from my hometown knew him as the big brother to the town kids, even me. Meeting him again gave me two blessings: support in trying to start something new and two new lessons. This was especially after he dealt with a military lady trying to play sympathy from me for a free ride:

1. Life is unpredictable. You never know who or what may come your way. Stay humble
2. There are two types of no-nonsense people: Those that are straight-laced and take no shit, and those (whom ive learned to be wary off) that are no-nonsense BECAUSE they're full of shit themselves

The other day I found my dad's last coinstar receipt from 2009, it was $244. I also found three small jugs of change that I assume he'd been saving since then, so I took them in to see if it would break his record. $372. Wish he would've used it for something fun while he was here, I'm likely just going to put it into some repair here. But it was nice to get it taken care of and one less thing on the to-do list.

Finally got the garage to where I think I'm happy with it, so now I just need to keep it clean and free of spiders. Something is disagreeing with me digestively, so that ain't great. But having one part of the house "done" is nice.

Today is five months since my father passed away. It's time enough that it's not fresh, but not time enough that some stuff still doesn't choke me up. Wish he was still here so we could be antagonizing each other, there's an empty space there that I don't think is ever going to be filled, you know?
