Noone would mistake that for a neo geo title
You never said it Had to be on the Neo Geo specifically...

Also also... Doom requires lots of 32-bit calculations. like what 486 CPUs can do, and the Neo Geo's CPU compared to a 486 is like comparing an Texas Instruments Zilog Z80 CPU to a Pentium CPU, and much more advanced than the MC68000 CPU that Neo Geo has....

It's basically running an overclocked Sega Genesis motherboard and CPU.

You know? I never noticed the lack of a Doom port on Neo Geo... Probably because I had always assumed it was a given (look at the sheer amount of random devises the fucker runs on).

But I just LOVE these kinds of tech tidbits into consoles and engines from the past:

Programming error? Oversight? Or just a design philosophy that Doom simply wasn't a part of? Whatever the case it's fascinating, man.
From the guy's explanation it's not a programing error, but more that the hardware itself is incapable of rendering, let alone running the complexities of Doom.
If Doom had uniform height for it's walls and ceilings like in Wolf then it's be a different story.
But as it is, Doom has sectors to simulate the illusion of elevation.
While yes, in theory it's all just an illusion of elevation, it still has to look the part, something that the CPU is not capable of doing because of missing functions.

In shorts: Wolfenstein 3D could be homebrewed on the Neogeo.

Also I'll always defend Doom to be a 3D game because there are clear evidences that the engine had some z-axis in it.

From his very quick demo, yes definitely.
But it would still require heavy optimization to get proper framerates, at first I thought that shrinking sprite size and rendering down would help, but it also might not, based on the method of how the Neo Geo renders it's graphics, vertical strip by vertical strip.
