Defentially Psycho Dream! infact that obscured hidden Super Nintendo/Super famicom gem recently got a rerelease on the PS4 and Nintendo Switch,the game combines Sci Fi Metroid-like Elements with japanese horror elements,it plays similar to both the Valis games and the Castlevania games:P

Yes,your absolutely right,that the first stage in Legend of the Mystical NInja (AKA: Ganbare Goemon 1: THe rescue of Princess Yuki) has a horror theme where you fight the Horo Temple Ghost Woman.

Pocky and Rocky 1 in general is filled with Horror Ghost themes,but stage 3' The Haunted Cementary stage takes it up to eleven on a whole new Level.
