*Sigh* Can we really not have nice things? (Gaming Disappointments)

Do doujin circle VNs and RPGs that later got anime* adaptations count as anime games?

my biggest issue every time they make a game based on anime it´s a fucking fighting game like why. Like when they recently made Hunter X hunter and it´s a fighting game why not a JRPG that follow the story of the anime or is a spin of story ??
I feel similarly about Jojo games, though I sort of like All Star Battle and adore Heritage for the Future. I have yet to try the Super Famicom RPG, though I've heard mixed things about it...

I don't really like Musou games, so whenever an anime game is announced and it's one of those I feel so bummed, lol.

We get nice things, most of the times but sometimes we get disappointments. I haven't played a good anime game since Naruto Broken Bond ::sailor-embarrassed

I can barely read your text god damn yo

I was so excited for Bleach: Rebirth of Souls. Bleach really needed a new console game and it LOOKED so promising... It's okay? Very limited lasting appeal, kind of forgettable once you realize how one dimensional the admittedly unique mechanics are.

But now... *sigh* Nen Impact. HxH has never gotten a good game, like... a REALLY good game. It was finally getting one. Arc System Works!? It sounds so promising, the game we needed! But... $60? Terrible single player content? Horribly dated visuals? Completely broken netcode? I didn't even mind the small roster, it's a QUALITY roster at least... but... but!

I just want a win. :(
Nen impact was stupidly low budget, so the visuals and character roster make sense. It's a shame about the price tag when the work done does not reflect that, I think Arcsys and Bushiroad wanted to charge maximum price in hopes of making a sly profit.

As for Rebirth of souls, I think it was latching onto Sparking Zero's success (financially) I also think due to the same success we're due another wave a painfully average Anime arena fighters.

Honestly fighting games and battle royal and hero shooters are like Tiktok for video games great for people with no attention span and no will for any story what so ever
This is somewhat off topic but i couldn't disagree with this statement more. If you want to talk about the people who play these games in the most casual sense possible (basically just button mashing/ having a fun time with friends), sure i guess. But the next group of people, the ones who play and take the time to actually learn the mechanics of these games and how they work, calling them tik tok esque games great for people with no attention span is just plain wrong.

This isnt a small fraction of those communities either there are large portions of the player base that are doing exactly that.
