(i don't mind dragon ball in Japanese btw, but it's not the language i choose to watch the shows, i usually just use it for the videogames since most people play them in english)

The original 3 shows on latin american spanish were easily the most beloved and recognizable versions besides the Japanese one.

meanwhile kai was the most disliked even when most of the original cast returned for the tfc and it can easily be seen as to why: no uncut (no uncensored version), toei not wanting to give the old cast a more appropriate salary, making so in the latin american spanish dub we got new voices more resembling of the english ones from Funimation from 2002 onwards, and in tfc on of the most criticized things was the lack of ecco when screaming + kid buu and his horrible yells when he screams, even weirder because the actor does a good job as kid buu and his previous forms, but when screaming as kid buu he just sounds like a chicken.

even ignoring these two glaring issues, the version they put for latin america on hbo max is pure crap: bad audio quality, even more abrupt cuts and censorship, and an image quality so bad not only it does not look like the hd blu rays, it isn't even the correct aspect ratio, not cropped mind you, but something like 5:4 or some shit like that

Meanwhile kai in english is considered the best english dub in the entire franchise by most people, regardless if they like or not (i do, especially tfc despite it's obvious issues), the only voices i've seen i only dislike are videl and buuhan (which shouldn't have had his pitch be lowered, it was unnecessary) the rest are fine to good, and the acting isn't as exaggerated or poorly delivered as in the latin american dub, like the genkidama scene in episode 163: in latin american spanish and even in Japanese it's quite embarrassing because of the quite forced way everyone yells "Satan" in an unenthusiastic tone, meanwhile in english despite weird things like the "yeah, oh yeah" the way the people of earth say "MISTER SATAN" it's so good it gives new value to the already beautiful scene seen in Z

The only downside is not hearing yamamoto's music in all 98 episodes of the first kai, i already have db and dbz in latin american spanish and i've found a fan project of kai that has the 98 episodes with their respective Yamamoto tracks, and it makes scenes like cell's death in the father-son Kamehameha a lot better
but the audio quality is quite bad, some episodes sound about right while others sound really "canned", it's quite jarring, especially with the high quality music and sfx of kai, since one of the major selling points of kai was hearing dragon ball in anime form with high quality stereo sound for the first time, the audio used for said fan project came i think from an old version of the latin american dub, since the one that has higher quality wasn't used in that project.

What do you think? Kai in English iwth high quality sound and a better dub than the latin american one or just a fan project for the latin american kai + tfc?
I would gladly hear your recommendations!
