Should I kill all enemies in Oboromaru's chapter in Live A Live?

I read that the remake gives you a special weapon when beating the chapter without killing any enemy, but im playing the original version (cuz its the one I have access to) and that special weapon supposedly isnt there.

It'll certainly come in handy later as I remember you will keep Oboro's leveling. though to avoid spoilers I won't say where that helps, though thematically speaking it changes the implications of Oboromaru's character at the end of his story so it depends what you value more practical leveling or how you envision Oboro.

One more thing have a guide on hand if you really want to go through with the all kill run. It will throw a few tricks to screw you over so to avoid that gamefaqs is your best bet at doing this first try.

I remember, i once played it without killing anyone, and in the end, i got a special weapon.
However, i have never tested the killing-all route.
And yes, i have played the SNES version.

you get a weapon for killing nobody that shows up at the very end of his chapter. like, after you would have a chance to even use it.

not sure where you're at in his chapter, but if you're not very far in, I recommend just playing normally unless you really want him to be a pacifist for roleplaying reasons, which, fair enough. probably don't do it for the weapon. killing every enemy or killing no enemies are both tedious puzzles that's meant for repeat playthroughs. weapon will get outclassed pretty quickly by the next time you have access to oboro.
