so I've been stuck without a working computer for like 8 days by now (send help) and have no idea if I'm gonna have to deal with this for a few days or god forbid a month, so what are some short rpgs I can beat in the course of a few days?
notes:

-my phone can comfortably emulate psp games and probably anything less than that
-preferably turn based
-not super difficult but some difficulty is OK
-idk about srpgs, they're on thin ice I guess

Dragon Quest 1 and 2, and Final Fantasy 1 are all fairly straightforward and not incredibly long.

Baldur’s Gate 1 can pretty comfortably be beat in a few days (I think it took me about a week) once you learn the quirks, as it’s generally way harder early on before you amass a party. It’s got a mobile version though, not an emulated one. It’s not turn-based and the combat is kind of hectic until you get used to it.

"Riviera The Promised Land", GBA or PSP (you should play this one if you can emulate psp fine, otherwise go for gba, I played it twice on my pc with a gba emulator and I loved it, and years later I bought psp physical version for collection): turn-based with peculiar mechanics, "HowLongToBeat" says you can beat it in around 25 hours. If you choose it, you may want to read some tips if you feel lost about the skill/equip system or the "points" you spend to look around.

Chrono Trigger maybe? Or Super Mario RPG? Other than that the Golden Sun games or Earthbound could be worth a look as well.
Oh! Since you mention the PSP - they're not turn-based, but if you haven't played them yet, the Ys games on that system are all bangers. Not too sure how they might play on a phone though, now that I think about it...

Breath of Fire 4 on PS1. Every game in the series has their own standalone stories + turn based and has combo attacks features + fun minigames + it takes like 24 hours to beat it + no need to grind. So if you want the game is short but also can spend decades on it (I still catch fishes on it lol).

Not emulation, but the Witchspring games for android are light, short experiences that end up surprisingly good for what they are.

I'm gonna suggest "Phantasy Star IV", for the Sega Genesis. I'm playing it for the first time this year, and I've been pleasantly surprised how forward-thinking it is (optional quest board, a convenient menu option to remind you what your next story objective is, etc), and it's also super brisk in its pacing. I think it would really lend itself to phone emulation.

Hope you can fix your computer soon!

Maybe try Lunar games. The PSX remakes are better than the SegaCD originals IMO. If you decide to give srpgs a try then Arc the Lad is a short and sweet one. The sequel massively expands on its every aspect but I suppose you'll cross that bridge when you come to it, if ever.

Shining Force is in the Sega Genesis collection for PSP. It's only 8 chapters long, totaling to 30 battles. Good story too.

Panzer Dragoon Saga is the perfect option for a short RPG in mobile(that's how I played it with Yaba Sanshiro 2) although... first play Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon Zwei before start Saga

Easyrpg and joiplay can emulate rpgmaker games. Easyrpg is for RM2000/2003 and joiplay is for rpgxp and up. Rpgmaker.net has been down for a while but their archive is available here:

The Star Ocean games (1 & 2) are also fairly short, but nice in the replayable way that depending on some choices you make you go throught the adventure with diferent party members and also see diferent interactions between them, i remember beating the first one in around 21h which is short for a jrpg (cant rmember the 2nd).

i played the psp versions of them, the first one's new opening has a banger song imo.

Crystalis is a fast paced ARPG, yeah you still need to grind but enemies aren't that hard until the final stage and EXP is realatively plenty, i could beat it in a single day
