1. I never use starters on later playthroughs
2. My DSi froze when Hilda was using her throwing animation and unlocked something primal in me

We had a copy of pokemon yellow that me and my brother and sister shared when I was a kid. One day my brother lent the game to his friend and she deleted the save file. Luckily I'd already copied most of the good pokemon over to my copy of pokemon silver but it still sucked and we were pretty choked at my brother for lending the game out.

Hello everyone, I'm going to tell my turn, my story with Pokémon. I was always playing on emulators, but I never had the original consoles because it was too expensive, and I come from a city the size of an ant in the countryside in my region. My dream has always been to play Pokémon, so I'm going to tell a story about how I played Pokémon Platinum and I didn't get past that demon called Cíntia. I was trying to get past it with my team, but I didn't know how to play, play like a child/teenager, and I can't strategize, but now that I'm wiser, what I need to do is evolve all my Pokémon and make a huge grid. I think I'll try. If anyone wants to give me Pokémon tips to help me start playing, thank you.

Omanyte remains my favorite Gen I Pokemon because a friend (who was still merely a stranger) gifted me its card without batting an eye, bridging the gap the only way kids can: by giving something both meaningful and unimportant to someone else to see if that sparks something.

I am old AF so I remember when the original games came out. I was supposed to go to a friend's birthday party in 5th grade, but it was canceled for some reason, so instead my mom took me to Wal-Mart and I bought Pokemon Red. I likely played it all dang day so it was probably more fun than the party would have been.

1. I had complete Pokedex in Sapphire minus event only mons without a guide. Same save file also has 198 wins - 1 lose record, and I've won 2 local tournaments.
2. Treecko and Machop are my Gs and I refuse to play any modern Pokemon games where both of them are not available.
3. All the shinies that I found throughout all the games are always normal type.

The first run through a game I usually play as the boy and name him after myself.
A second run of a game I usually play as the girl and name her Yuna. It's a kind of tradition from when a friend of mine gave me his old Pokémon Pearl game, and that was the name on the save file that was on it.

I have never ever seen a shiny, apart from the shiny Lycanroc that I specifically hunted down in Scarlet with the help of the picnic mechanic so that I would "force" it out.

I usually switch out my starter with something else except for maybe the Gen 1 and 3 games.

If the game has Lapras, Ampharos, Scizor or Dragonite it's almost a guarantee that I'll have them on my team, I just love them too much.

The first time I had a poisoned Pokemon outside of battle, and the screen would flash after every step you took, I thought my cartridge was broken and began to panic bad. This was the yellow version gameboy color and probably the nicest thing I owned at the time. There also wasn't accessible internet to tell me to calm the shit down and go to a pokemon center.

I tried Pokémon when I (and the franchise) were young. Yellow had just been out for a little while, one or two years, so I decided to play that one since you could have a Pikachu to start. But it wasn't enough that I could use something other than the original starters; I had to get through the game using only Pikachu, effectively soloing what I could get through, until I came to my first problem in the form of a vine I had to cut using an HM skill. So I found that I couldn't teach it to the Pikachu and thus, couldn't not get any other Pokémon. I was devastated not being able to solo the game with a single Pokemon, and, after catching some other Pokémon here and there for no use other than HMs, I got to Cinnabar Island and gave up shortly afterwards. I think I had 7 badges when I quit my run. I was upset not getting to solo with only Pikachu, which also ruined things if it got knocked out because then it would switch to another Pokémon, causing me to need to reset. That was my miserable experience trying to actually beat a Pokémon game, and I've never looked back since. Now and then I start a game and play through as much as I feel like, but it's not usually very far, maybe the first few towns or so, and I never set out to play through the whole game. It is simply not my cup of tea, and I would honestly rather play through the Shin Megami Tensei series if I get the urge to play a long RPG where you recruit dozens of different members for your party.
