People I started today Shakedown: Hawaii to play and I have to say that I haven't had that much fun for a long time. The game is incredibly good, do you know it too??? 🤩🤩🤩

Honestly I played the Retro City Rampage DX on the PSP version (Which was the last game released on the console) and it's fine to be a kind of original 2D GTA but with an 8-bit theme, although this game is like the original 2D GTA but in 16-bit but it looks good too.

Yeah it was good too but this one is improved even better.

This game has a reputation for being one of the last games released on a bunch of consoles (3DS, Vita, Wii, Wii U, PS3) I've never actually tried it, but I enjoyed Retro City Rampage so I'd probably like this one too.
It is very entertaining with addiction factor.

I actually forgot about this one, thanks for the reminder. I haven't played it yet but had meant to.

Come to think of it, I never played Retro City Rampage either and I own some limited edition PS4 version that I never opened because I never got a PS4.

One of my favourite games! Genius story that wraps a fun-to-play mix between sim city and GTA. Highly suggested!! A lot of depth covered by choices that may seem (only on the surface) dull... what a fantastic hidden gem! ::coolstafy

I had RCR DX on the ps3 years back. When I first played it I thought it was cool that it made many references to every movie single I happened to watch on a VOD service at the time.
Looking back at it, being more cynical; if it were released today it would be ridiculed to death for relaying solely on nostalgic sugar highs for it's entertainment. I personal don't think it's that bad of game; I had fun with it. But I wouldn't replay it ever again.

As for Hawaii Shakedown itself, I did honestly played it for a good 40 minutes. I got bored...

This and Retro City Rampage were both $2.99 on the recent steam sale. Regular price is $19.99, so that's a great deal. I picked them both up, but haven't played them yet. Worth noting for anyone looking to pick these up, though: wait til the winter sale and it'll likely be that price again. ::thumbsupwario

Wasn't it on the Wii U?

I should try it but I already liked RCR enough.

Pretty neat game. The last Wii U game released physically by a decent amount of time if I recall. Didn't beat it but played a chunk of it on Switch and beat Retro City Rampage on PS3 years ago. I wonder if the dev is cooking anything else up, it's been a few years.

Kinda funny that I didn't really enjoy the game when it launched for this very reason. There wasn't much of a story that wasn't just references to other things lol I was kinda hoping for it to do its own thing, and not just be some silly nostalgia slapstick.. But that's not the game's fault. I guess I wanted something that wasn't this game. Too bad what I wanted doesn't exist. Because even now I'd totally dig my teeth into a 2D GTA / Saints Row / Sleeping Dogs / Mafia game. But I don't think Shakedown Hawaii is that game either
