i know the snes vs mega drive is still a fun debate to get into nowadays, but in terms of each company's influence on the gaming industry as a whole, why does it feel like people keep disregarding just how groundbreaking sega's technology was? yu suzuki straight up invented texture mapping a good two years before doom did with quake, and they made the first game ever to use 3d models just in 1992. even disregarding that, with machines like the r360, sega basically brought amusement park rides to the arcade. so why is it that when big names such as avgn discuss sega, they can only seem to bring up its consoles in the conversation?
