Couldn’t really find a dedicated, pre-existing thread to put this in. This is my collection of SEGA games! It was late last year and early this year that I began to add games to this lineup from the Dreamcast and Saturn. The collection is small, but impressive considering the timeframe and the splits I’m taking on my income (some irresponsible spending has been done, I admit).

Yes, in the middle of my Dreamcast set are some repros. I’m actually disgusted that they’re there. I got duped and ended up spending a not insubstantial amount of my paycheck from the Christmas period on what essentially amounts to nasty bootlegs. Don’t get Dreamcast repros. They’re not worth it, your system will scream at you, and you’ll have a bad time. Burn the games yourself if you want them so bad. It taught me an important lesson about appreciating the legitimate games I DID have, and being even just a little patient while collecting.

Oh, also some loose Genesis carts. I plan to get boxes for them soon, as I’ve managed to hunt down boxes for a few other games that I previously had as loose (Shinobi 3, Altered Beast, Ms. Pac-Man, Columns, Fatal Fury 2, Sonic 2).

I’d love to see people reply back with their collections, if they have one!

I have thousands of games I am going to collect from storage and start selling off. I will take a few photos before I do.

You gotta pump up that Sega Saturn output ;->

Tons of great games. It looks like you are getting those Japanese games in. That's the way to do it. There's a bunch that you can get through without knowing Japanese.

Also, no Master System love?! There are a ton of bangers on there as well.

What's the Saturn game with no label?

That’s Astal. I have no clue why it’s got no label. That’s just an oddity of the U.S. release.

Collection update!

I had to really crane to show this all off! This is my complete SEGA collection as of a couple weeks later. Now including consoles, controllers, and everything!

My Saturn set is small, but deliberate. I plan to only add games I really want, as Saturn games are expensive. Doesn’t help that I got totally addicted to U.S.’ long boxes. :P

Genesis set is building out, and is a current large priority! It’s one of my favorite things to get new games for, so it’s always exciting! Putting them all together really opens my eyes to how few I truly have though.

Alternatively, WOW I have a lot of Dreamcast stuff! I was very dedicated to that console for a bit there. I like the Dreamcast but I am overall vastly preferring Saturn, so I think I’ll slow way down on getting games for it. Probably aim for titles that I TRULY want, like Virtua Fighter 3 TB, Dead or Alive 2, Skies of Arcadia, Godzilla Generations: Maximum Impact, Crazy Taxi, Ikaruga, and a few others.

Here’s some more focused photos of each console:

Dolphin Blue! Love that game. I'd like to get that and Border Down for my own collection at some point
So, I should clarify that Dolphin Blue on Dreamcast is actually a fan-made port! Still a great game, and I played all the way through it, but it’s either an issue with the disc or an issue with RAM on the Dreamcast because WOW IT IS SLOW!

Load times between levels are about three to five minutes I want to say? Needless to say, I wouldn’t want to shop again from a place that sells games with that level of functionality, so it soured me harshly on reproduction games.

Yea just remembered dolphin blue runs on a different engine. Atomiswave I believe which is specialized for arcades use. Must share some coding specs with Dreamcast for someone to be able to run a port. Sounds like it isn't exactly optimized heh but still pretty cool.

I’d imagine you can make it better, because I don’t imagine somebody would release it on DC without it running like that.

But Atomiswave I think uses some Naomi basis though, if I’m not mistaken?

Yea maybe that's the connecting point between arcade and console. What an undertaking that must've been. Especially for a fan made project

I would love to show you mine but they are all in boxes in storage with a lot digitized, as keeping them out can cause them to degrade and suffer disk rot. I would recommend storing the disk based games in a air tight box if you have one. See through works if you cant to see them on the self.

Actually very good advice! I’ll see if I can get some individual cases to prevent exposure damage if I can.

WOW! What a beautiful SEGA collection! Growing up my neighbor would let me borrow his Genesis to play those blast processing games on, Rocket Knight Adventure was one of them! Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3, Shinobi 3, and even the late Vectorman- I completed that game not too long ago love the design in that one.

Now were talking, a import Sega Saturn with the NA model 1 controller with those lousy trigger buttons haha I bet it feels night and day difference using the original JP model. I grew up with the black NA SAT unfortunately I became use to the light-weight controller, but when I eventually bought a JP SAT the controller felt leagues better. I played all these games in the past, remember unlocking everything in Fighters Megamix, some of my most rentals were on Astal, and played Sega Rally on the demo disc called 'Bootleg Sampler'. Daytona USA came with a pack of 3 games along side Virtua Cop, and Virtua Fighter II. Do you plan on getting the 3D controller for NiGHTS? I'd recommend it, the controls feel at home on it. Nights into Dreams was one of the few Saturn games I held on to- I still own the NA, and bought the JP version back in 2010.

It's still thinking... very solid Dreamcast collection Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (another game I spent the most hours on to unlock every character, I remember leaving the system on over night to acquire more points), Power Stone, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, Sonic Adventure, Jet Set Radio. ChuChu Rocket! was one of the few games I played online using 56k dial-up back then, these days many games are back online like Alien Front Online- I still need to get around to giving them all a go.
