I’m sharing a full multi-language restoration patch for MegaRace on Sega CD.
The game actually contains subtitles in multiple languages (French, Spanish, German, Italian), but they were never accessible in the original release.
This patch restores and fully integrates them into the game.
- Full multi-language support (FR / ES / DE / IT)
- Subtitles restored from original game data
- Sprites and in-game text adapted accordingly
- Timing and display adjusted for proper in-game use
- Around 98% of the game is now fully playable
No FMV videos were modified. Everything is based on original game data.
After some research, it seems likely that the game was originally intended for a wider European release. The PC version already supported multiple languages, and the Sega CD version still contains all the related subtitle data. Since the game was only released in the US on Sega CD, this content remained unused. In a way, this patch restores something that may have originally been planned by the developers.
The patch includes an automatic BAT installer.
Simply place your multi-bin ISO in the same folder as the patch and run the provided BAT file.
