An interesting but also an almost impossible idea. Sega is supposed to become the new Capcom? ::thinking Well, nowadays everything is possible. But the biggest surprise is that a Tekken legend heads to SNK. I wonder who that is?

The idea is to go forward, not backward ::winkfelix

What does that even mean? To get Capcom's success? To remake their greatest hits while sticking to products that will 100% sell and experiment as little as possible? ::thinking

Is this an issue? Let's not fool ourselves because games have become too expensive to afford any experimental game that would be too big of a risk for return to investment.

And I don't even remember when the last time Sega was being experimental to begin with.

3DS probably. They dropped Rhythm Thief one day and were like “that was cool, let’s never do that again.”

It's probably just an idea. Whether it will actually be done is another story. It's almost impossible to take anything seriously anymore because it always sounds like, "Okay, maybe we'll do it," or "No, we're not doing it after all." ::cirnoshrug

I don't what to say because I don't the condition of Sega lately do they have big hits aside Yakuza Sonic and Puyo Puyo? Because that I know the current games where still kicking new tittles.

This looks nice but I also think that a new IP doesn't have to overstay its welcome nor get milked to death.

Also it's probably Xeen that wasn't interested in doing another game in this genre.

I doubt SEGA going to make 10 remakes a year, and turn every game into cinematic over the shoulder shooter
A bit rude towards Capcom.

I'd love if Sega could make their own Pragmata though.

Spoken like true biased hater. I don't like every single one of Capcom's recent games, but I prefer them doing better now than how they were back in the mid 2010s. I take it like an adult and not like a spoiled brat who didn't get every single thing they wanted or keep relying on nostalgia goggles like it was some perfect paradise.

Also, Sega fucked up by putting those the Yakuza games on the assembly line, and the disaster that is Kiwami 3. Also, whenever they release updated versions of Persona, making the vanilla versions pointless. Which cost them and bit them in the butt hard. Funny how you forget about that.

They don't need to make that but I wouldn't mind. Or just get Shinji, back for Vanquish 2.

It's still a shame because the story ends on cliffhanger ::sadkirby

I'm not their biggest warrior. If I was, I would be blindingkt praising them and act as if they have no flaws. They half l
flaws like any other company, I just remember to have a bounce for you and not be overly negative, not ignore and blindly naive and positive.

How about you, take your own advice, and do that, is that a crime because you didn't get everything you wanted nor imagined?

I'd rather, these comedies be doing well and learn from nerve mistakes. And not being in worse or worse positions than they were back in the past. You can't have it both ways. If you're not interested, then you have no need for these discussions anymore, and can keep relieving the past over and over again ignoring anything new at all (aside from indie). i love old games too, but i'm not afraid to try something new, nor cry because i didn't get every single thousand percent of something I wanted.

So what you're saying is, companies should just stick to remakes instead of original games because its safer? Yes, that's exactly the issue. Kunistu-gami and Pragmata are unique and cool, but we are talking about 2 original IPs in 6 years here.

My fear if Sega decides to focus more on american market instead of his natural japanese origin(ok, Sega made various US only games with his legendary Sega Research Institute, as well few of his composers are americans such as Howard Drossin[Sonic 3 and Manx TT] and Brad Buxter). Capcom now becomes too american, as can be sensed on Street Fighter 6. Sad Sega wants to follow his course, after the company reveals an unrelated Ryu Ga Gotoku(Yakuza/Like a Dragon) game who features an fantasy version of US rapper Snoop Dog(he also made an guest appearance on Tekken Tag Tournament 2 console versions).

An addition of Harada on SNK: this caught me on surprise. What type of game he will make on future on SNK? If we will have an KOF XVI with Shinji Hosoe composing musics?

Capcom also have made an entirely new Resident Evil game as well.

As for new IPs I'd also argue that it doesn't guarantee at being good nor original.

Sega should've kept its focus on South America and Europe... But that was in the 90's.

Sega has been kind of "bleh" as of late in my opinion. They've run Yakuza so thin that they inevtiably made the IP implode with Kiwami 3 after the middle of the road Pirate Majima game. Remaking all of their old IP's seemed kind of fun at first until it hit me that this is ANOTHER company relying on remakes like Capcom does. Almost every company seems to be doing better than they were during the Xbox One years though. That's something to be happy about at least. Though I'd easily take Dead Rising 3 compared to Dead Rising 4 lol.

Snoop Dogg is where franchises go to die.

No they're not, and Capcom relearned to embrace their Japanese roots since 2017. Though they've always gone for Western appeal since day one they entered in the console market, and most definitely so with the release of Resident Evil on PlayStation. "Western appeal" at its worse for Capcom was the mid 2010s and trying to appeal gritty 7th gen aesthetics or "we want the Call of Duty crowd" with RE6. They learned their lesson. Also, they re-released all of those Capcom Fighting Game Collections and are not afraid of their past legacy and took the utmost care in preserving them and giving people options on how they want to play them.

No they don't. Did you not play Reqiuem, Path of the Goddess, Pragmata, or Exoprimal (I get why you would not want to play Exo). We also got Onimusha: Way of the Sword (a brand new title and not a remake) coming out this year. A new Okami sequel next year. RE3R aside, they took time with their remakes, so let's not downplay nor make up bullshit, Fine if you're not into them or only certain ones, but hating on the remakes doesn't make you "smart, wise, profound, nor different". Just makes you another average hater and nothing more.

Resident Evil 6, the game who is nonsense from the start to end.

Why do you think I mentioned it in a negative tone? They learned their lesson from that. Though I do not like RE7. 8 is better, but that's just worse version/glorified remake of 4 (which I am not a fan of either), and with RE4R, there is no reason for me to go back and play Village.
