Secret of the Four Winds

I'm trying to emulate The Secret of the Four Winds for Sega Genesis using retroarch on android. I supposedly have the correct rom dump, but whenever I load it in any of the Genesis cores on retroarch I get an error: "This software is not compatible with the current hardware. Please insert the original cartridge on an original sega genesis or sega megadrive console"

Has anyone gotten this to work? I'm assuming it needs a modified core, just like Paprium, but none of my searches online have turned up anything. No instructions, no modified cores, just a handful of youtube videos showing the game running in emulation.

I used the regular Genesis Plus GX core and it worked. I'm using the Linux version of Retroarch though. The only advice I can give is to use Genesis Plus GX and make sure the core is updated.
Main Menu > Online Updater > Update Installed Cores

Just updated the core, still no luck. If I use the gl video driver it's just a blank screen with no sound, and if I use vulkan I get the error message. I have the optional sega cd drivers. Maybe I need a different rom dump but I have 2 different versions that are supposedly good copies and I can't locate any others. Might be an android issue. I'll have to try it on windows.

Ok, it works in windows but I don't get any music. I even have the soundtrack in a folder titled "soundtrack" but all I get is sound effects.
Edit: Finally figured it out. I had to have the rom in the same folder as the soundtrack files, which is contrary to what I was originally told.
