I really don't like reddit, they never indulged me ever. I appreciate all the people giving their opinions here. Have a great day.Yes it is.
at the moment, I play the Saturn alot more than the dream cast. I have way more games for it, need to get more sd cards for the gdemu. I will say this, the dreamcast does have the saturn beat on light gun shooters, cus ho2 is much better than ho1 and though virtua cop is great, dc got more. Im playing sonic jam at the moment. I love sakura wars its litI feel like my personal favorite is the Saturn--that's just what flavor of weeb I am, but objectively the better of the two is the Dreamcast. So much more range.
I do agree with all your points, but I will say I think the dreamcast has better 3d fighters in my opinion. Dead or alive 2 is like you said a multi platform; I think the title "project justice" is just such a great exclusive for it. but I do prefer the 2d fighters on saturn.Saturn for sure. Better FPS games, better puzzle, RPG and 2D shooters, better racing games, more interesting 3D action games. Dreamcast got good versions of multiplats but I don't really care for the difference between Rayman 2 on PS1 vs Rayman 2 on Dreamcast. It's still *just* Rayman 2.
Dreamcast however, did not finish its generation. Given another year of releases it would have been a much stronger console, and had it made it to the end of the generation it would be worth the hype the internet loves to pile on it.
Despite what I had said, I do have to disagree about the fps point, they are mostly found on other consoles, and in my taste. I would not play an old school fps with a controller; even if it would be accurate to the time. I would much prefer to play source ports of them on pc and such.Saturn for sure. Better FPS games, better puzzle, RPG and 2D shooters, better racing games, more interesting 3D action games. I notice your profile is the character in the cotton games, thats one of my favs on the saturn, along with gun bird.Saturn for sure. That's perfectly reasonable. I find VF2 to be too iconic to trade off - it probably helps I don't consider Soul Calibur 1 to be a stand out game.I think the dreamcast has better 3d fighters in my opinion.
The small selection on Saturn is almost all top quality. Powerslave, Duke3D, Quake (although flawed, still interesting.) to me trump every DC FPS game which are mostly built around online play aren't they?I do have to disagree about the fps point
Hell yes.I notice your profile is the character in the cotton games, thats one of my favs on the saturn, along with gun bird.
i really like the berserk dreamcast game, it takes place after the anime has finished. I personally have not read the manga; as a complete set is about 500 dollars lolI definitely liked the controller better on the Saturn but the Dreamcast did end up ticking more boxes in the games department. Most of my time with a Saturn was with 2D Fighters and a couple of JRPGs while with the Dreamcast I also had alot of 2D Fighters and a couple of JRPGs. On top of that my favorite party game Sonic Shuffle, some good action adventure games with Blue Stinger and Silver, and my only real experience with Beserk being the Dreamcast game :P
I like virua fighter 2, but i think fighters megamix is a lil bit better. Virtua kids is a novelty. Not to say I would not enjoy an fps on the console, but I think mouse and keyboard is better, for example; on my modded wii I have duke nukem that works with keyboard and mouse. I have read it says you can use keyboard and mouse with the dc quake 3, perhaps the saturn would allow its keyboard and mouse for its fps? Im not sure. Great to discuss this with you. That's perfectly reasonable. I find VF2 to be too iconic to trade off - it probably helps I don't consider Soul Calibur 1 to be a stand out game.
