Sad Music.

We have all been there before, everyone is sad at point.
I consider this separate from disturbing music, disturbing music is uneasy, sad music is depressing.
Here's some of my favorite examples.

The entire album, particularly this live performance is possibly one of the most impactful pieces of music I have experienced.

Same here, just highlighting this song in particular.

Something about flood is so incredibly bleak, sad and hopeless. I cant put my finger on it.

Love songs in general have always depressed the living hell out of me..

Also, certain collections of music that I listened to during the first couple of years after a particularly bad break-up can trigger depression– simply from association alone. Which is ironic because most of it is heavy metal that I really enjoyed. For example, I have refused to listen to a bunch of 'Disturbed' for well over a decade now because of it.. I may very well be long past it by now, but I'm still afraid of a relapse..

For these reasons (and more)– I have always found it absolutely bizarre that people would listen to sad music on purpose, because they are sad, or to straight-up make themselves sad. It sounds strictly self-destructive to me..

I listened to this song on loop when I held a really sick little kitten who kept showing up on our doorstep because his previous owner threw him out years ago. More recently listened to it while waiting to hear back from the vet about his condition, he ate something and got very sick again.

This song hits more since it was the favortie song of one of the daughters of my neighbor, she had a lung disease she won't be able to recover, my neighbor's daughter knew she won't make it past childhood, and liked the song, she died at 12 years old
