Ryan Hurst is a good actor, and Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television are making this, so two points in its favor already.
1. Mr. Hurst is a good actor
And 2. it’s not FUCKING Netflix.

I haven't played God of War past 2, but I always liked the series.
As I mentioned, since it's not Netflix doing it, the show might actually stay true to the lore and not have a bunch of Political Bullshit shoved in.

Definitely not. Og God of War is too punk for the mythical "modern audience". And if they wanted to re-release, it would probably be a toned down version, with less gore and segs scenes.

Can you please not bring the alt-right or the culture war into this? It's no big secret that the gaming landscape has changed and some of the things that used to be cool no longer fly in the mainstream. Noticing this or even bemoaning that change is not necessarily indicative of anyone's views, political or otherwise.

Also, how about we stick to discussing the thread/argument at hand instead of insulting people?

By the by, the Tomb Raider remasters, as cool as they are, did in fact have a little oopsie when some pin-up posters of Lara were removed from one of the levels. Official explanations hinted at either a mistake or legal trouble concerning the use of Eidos marketing artwork. Of course, some people cried 'censorship'. The artwork is supposedly back in the game and I'm not one to make the call on who was right in this instance but I think it proves that there's merit in being apprehensive about re-releases of older games staying intact.

Perhaps an even better example would be the Commandos 2 remaster which removed a bunch of symbols. In a WWII-themed game in which you fight the Austrian painter's cohorts.

Again, please do not bring things into this discussion that don't need to be here and if you disagree with someone, dispute their points instead of attacking them personally. Ad hominems never make your arguments stronger. They just make you look silly.

Yep. I thought he was great as Thor, living in his Father's shadow, fiercely loyal to his children and battling a bloodied past.

I hope his take on Kratos taps into the character's anger more than Judge's portrayal did.
